Warm Winter Afternoon

I went back to the meadow today Its call was unmistakably clear I saw two yearlings at play, Then, remarkably, two older deer. Warming bringing a welcomed respite As the animals came out to frolic Before, inevitably, the ground is white And winter meadow will wax bucolic. My walk was pleasant; I shall stay, Reclining there in restive meditation Near yonder knoll the rest of the day Devoid of any unnecessary animation.

Those warm winter days are far and few between, like being in the eye of the storm. They are a welcome respite from the harsh winter that will surely follow. Tom

Indeed, Tom. Although we've had a few really cold days, the weather here is unseasonably warm. We had our first skiff of snow yesterday morning, but it was gone by noon. Thanks for your thoughts.
