Picking and raking,
Cleaning the political
Garden of Evil,
Know that while gardeners die,
Rooting out trash must go on:-
Leaves changing color
Jumping in them like little kids
Having so much fun
Raking them gives exercise
Praise the Lord it is Autumn
Raking, through the ashes
Shivers rolling up my spine,
Knowing, some similar day
These embers will be mine.

Leaves
Colorful, crunchable
Smell of Autumn
Tons raking
Jumping piles
Numerous shapes
Huge; small
Lovable, crisp leaves
Form:
Fall
cool, chilly
raking, playing, schooling
leaves, apples, flowers, trees
blooming blossoms, growing, flowering
warm, sunny
Spring
Garden
Green, healthy,
Planting, watering, weeding
Vegetables, flowers, seeds, husks,
Pulling, raking, feeding,
Dried, fully formed
Harvest

Recently
My dreams have been
Scarier than reality
Like nails raking down a blackboard
Not the fluffy happy stuff
You wish you never wake up from
dog catcher ferguson jeeves
found a new job raking leaves
since he turned eighty one
neighbors now have more fun
he's no longer spreading fleas.
Her gaze traces an island
Scanning a plagued village;
Tears swell from a tidal fury
raking bushes, shells--
In Maldives, she wails
For lost daughters.
Raked into a pile
Run and jump with abandon
Color explosion
Patiently rake once again
Making memories of fall
For the leaves contest...
It's a Jan A Thon
Dancing in our Soup
Dripping out of spoons
Burning up the group
Raking in the Wins
Shaking in our Skins
Must be the Queendom
Of United Kingdom!
breeze-like
can you feel, dear,
solo song of my heart
raking up ripples of romance ---
endless...?

Song of my heart Poetry Contest

Autumn with all the metaphors I can muster
The beauty of the season and it's golden luster
The raking of leaves
And cleaning of eaves
And my annual trip to the back adjuster
fallen leaves gathered
plastic sacks for discarding
my tired, aching back
not again is my refrain
boy next door has autumn job
written September 1, 2021
rose petal's garden
thorns raking an open eye
trimmed bush barren bare
blood let the face of mourning---
sweet cherry of virgin light

Ma Nature curbed my obsession.
Who could disturb her leaves under snow?
17 Nov 2014
in response to our sudden snowfall last Sunday night
I would have finished raking the yard on Monday.
Raking in yet another pot
the enigma had won an awful lot
Then a premature bid to leave
served him right in the temple
~ he was shot
Red and yellow colors everywhere;
busy hands raking and pulling
puffing, puffing, and puffing
lifting bags to and from…
stuffing and stuffing.
September sky--
leaves gathered
hard work
done.
autumn is peeking
apples for picking~baking
leaves for the raking

My dreams turn red fallen by a wayside
A change of heart
All for what?
Time flies
Quick
Now
Autumn’s
Fallen leaves
Dry as the breeze
Raking up a storm of forgotten leaves!

Racing toward the rampage of the storm
Raging river ripping free roots
Rocking the foundation form
Reeling back in the loot
Rocks raking through wood
Reclaiming home
Render goods

Have you checked
the garden lately,
weeds or flowers in the greens?
Raking over anger stately,
weed out all those plans and schemes.
Pleasant deeds bring peaceful dreams.
