Bruce Jender

There once was a man named Bruce Jender.
Decided that he'd change his gender.
He grew out his hair.
And then he used nair.
She's tired of being a pretender.

Advice For Someone

Stop being pretender to paramount
care for not be so rude
don't act too crooked
and being stupid and introspective
  superior is being simpler,
extroverted
than a villain... !

To all the girls I loved before

To all the girls I loved before,
who couldn't wait to whisk me out the door ~
who, after a single, attempted kiss
exclaimed, "Oh please, no more of this!"
Please know, je t'aime encore!

Seen, Unseen

The doer within—
Silent enabler, unseen
Works behind the scene;

Now look at ego,
Pretender and a big show,
Why can’t it lie low?

Pretending Poet

Birds fly,
because they have wings ...
The fire burns,
because it has a flame ...
The water wets,
because it's liquid ...
I pretend that all this
I do because I have
imagination...
I'm a poet ...!

The Pretender

The Hound dissed the Princess,
With a dour scowl.
He hid his little mistress,
Quickly to be avowed.
The inquest was listless,
with nothing much found.
Now the Bonnie Prince,
will wear a Kings Crown.

I Am a Poet Not a Pretender

I write love and joy,
              I write pain and nostalgia...
              I write what I feel,
              I'm not a pretender...
              I'm a poet,
              but I don't lie
              in poetry... !

The Pretender

Crookedly cunning,
Hurtful and sly;
Always a liar:
Risky to buy.
Lacking integrity,
And a willingness to try:
This true chameleon,
An artful scallion;
Not likely to change, until he die.

Pretender

i'm a pretender
a thin man in disguise
return to sender
with address hard pressed to find

considered a keeper
secrets about myself
i'm a deciever
some things i can not help

a reverse revolator
there are things i'll never tell
a strong detonator
wiring myself up to fail

First Kiss

Our first kiss
Felt like a magic spell
As my lips kept touching his
I didn't realize I had already fell
Through all the years
I obeyed his splendor
And with all the tears
He was just a pretender
It was time to wake up
Before it was too late
I had to break up
What could have been blind fate

Shadows

Feeling a twinge of wretchedness
From my ugly past.
I was plagued by misery and
treated like old dirty trash.
While existing in a dark cage in
my own afflicted mind.
Despair, disgust and fear was
not hard to find.
Lost, as stygian shadows crawl
upon my soul.
Only a pretender as I played my
role.

Good Things Beget Good Things

No need to look good to others
What good is not necessarily good
Just remain true and honest to yourself
Others who have heart and eyes knows what's good
Be a good person not a pretender
For those in Pawnshop knows fake from good
Life is a good experience when you do goodness
For good things beget good things.

Youth Is a State of Mind

Youth is a state of mind we choose to live
Though time that great pretender may deny
The truth that we perceive while years go by
In joy we know each instant passed may give
The moments we create to have and share
Do still occasion blessing on us rare
Youth is a state of mind we choose to live

Armadillo

Armadillo

Armor placed upon a knighted
Rat, defender of the gold, not the
Man whose crown adorns it.
Addled pretender to the throne,
Dunce, in hidden jesters robe
Ill bred, ill tempered,
Lothario, pompous preening,
Lecherous serpent seeking
Only the safety of self.

Lying In the Blackest Hour

pretender kings
in hollow realms,

sullen on iron thrones,

skeletal fish
in mercurial ponds,

eating their own tails,

fractured reflections
in shadowed mirrors,

eyes following with distorted grins,

salt stained pilgrims
passing bestial gods,

lapping blood in trenchers,

and I, what have I become?

What I have always been.

The Pretender

she walks the halls so sure so defined
but i know the truth behind
each cliche she demonstrates
she projects an image
the purity of perfection
but i see that she is only
the perfect parody of what we want to be
and someday it will be clear to us
that the only think about people like her
that is even close to perfect
is they are the perfect fools

Crossroads

Revenge, pretend or carry the pain
Sadism heals no hurt
A pretender bleeds to death
The weight of pain builds your strength

Change, blend or disdain
Crusaders changed the world
Conformists stood in their way
Deniers remained astray

Crossroads, dead ends or a one way
Dead ends have no life
A one way has no options
Adventure into the crossroads

Your Head Over My Shoulder

YOUR HEAD OVER MY SHOULDER
 (for M.M.E)

Your head over my shoulder;
And my mind was blown yonder.
Sensation struck me like thunder,
Lost I was in your world of wooing wonder.
Even though I might have played a pretender,
To this influence of your eloquence so tender,
Heaven knows your head over my shoulder
Eases my stress, my mess and my going asunder.

Evil Seed

How can a tree be planted on a rock
The eagle and the lion cannot flock
Neither can the chicken produce a hawk
He force me to feel bitter
Even though life is sweeter
You skillful lair
Yes indeed, take heed
For at the end
Your caucus will the beast feed
For you have sawed an evil seed
And god will reward you
According to your deeds
You evil doer
Such a false pretender
