Now a memory,
Mama's long dining table,
Big enough for nine.
Great platters over-flowing
With fresh food from her garden....

Friends
The large blue teapot,
Used for special occasions,
And platters of cakes;
A gathering of friends
Sharing stories, sharing lives....

Only poo can make this world seem bright
Only poo can make what's heavy light
Only poo and poo alone can thrill me to the bone
So I fill my toilet to the brim with poo....

PLATTERS

Platter full of pastries.
Plate of fruits and mixed nuts.
Peaches and plums, so sweet.
Pineapple so juicy.
Pecans so buttery.
Pistachios, cashews
Palatable, tasty.

Premium Member Smoke Gets In Your Eyes
The Platters had a hit with Jerome Kern's song many years ago.

My eyes tear up as I recall dancing to it cheek to cheek and slow!

Now my eyes tear up most every day as smoke gets in my eyes,

From the smoke of western fires wafting o'er pristine Colorado skies!...

Premium Member Searching
Birds find their food right in the ground
Critters find it strewn all around

Bears enjoy hunting for meat or for fish
Lions and tigers most always get their wish

Yet we humans struggle to put food on our platters
Too busy searching for love ~ what really matters...

Bourbon High Cola
There was a young man from Pensacola
Who chug-a-lug a bourbon high cola
Gave it try
Eyes did cry
Head swirled like he was on a Victrola.

A Victrola is a record player that used to spin those old platters, 66, 33 RPM. If you care, you can boot up a picture of one on your chosen website....

Premium Member Refurbished Nursery Rhymes: The Family Spratt
Mrs. Spratt was exceedingly fat,
Hubby Jack was as lean as a bone.
They both relished each meal
With a great deal of zeal
And even licked platters clean
When the eating was done.
Though not frugal with rations,
They still took lovely vacations
With the money they saved on dish detergent alone.

Drip Drop of Rain
Plotters- plat- platters a drip of drop!
plop-plop-plop the dripping raindrop.
Purplish splash on mud and mire-
Clapping rain drop put out the fire!

Purring rain of dripping drops
against the water and greenery tree tops.
Perfect symphany of the falling rain-
Plotters-plat-platters a dripping rain....

Something
Like raindrops glued to the car's window,
like platters of water on the road remain,
as shallow as to stand with pain under the mud,
we stand here, trying to reach for something,
like cactus roots reaching down to hell,
there's deepness buried down the ground,
with hands reaching for heaven,
so long, so long.......

To Feel Expansive In Appreciation of a Night Garden
I thrill to yellow platters of iris against Spring black blue skies,
I am moonstruck by their essence and reflection in Nature's eyes.
For their secret night cooling breeze.
I long to draw in their perfumy breath and blow it from me
Emeralding around their friends’ night symphonies.
And send it to you with my love....

Premium Member Creek Speak
Baptism grasps, water channels multiply surface
Scissored scenes lay platters simutaneously
Owl eyed creek spurs my metamorphosis
Billowing claim is domain of striving trees

Frigid inhalation arrests latent vulnerability
Surrendour, dove's fallen feather alleviates
Split awareness open as oyster delivers me
Vantage announced by intricacies of lace...

Flip flop drip drop: show us your coin
Whose image and superscription hath it ?

All of truth most assuringly belongs, in Beauty's bosom
Although tis quite apparent that many here about babylon....

Premium Member The Lover In Us
It is in small things we do
Believe it or not, love blooms
Mindfulness comes when we ask
The lover in us to strive
Participating in love.
For no reason at all, love.
Hands can hand us loving
In envelopes, on platters
Consistently, thoughtfully
Our rejuvenated selves
Climbs back in love with the world -
It is then a done deal, done.
Expects nothing from no one
For you have found love in you.

Fantasy
Fantasy, the delicacy of royalty
Hundreds of worlds served on silver platters
Dragons’ wings and faerie dances whirl
Spinets of castles, swords and shields
Arranged for your feast – accompanied by
The magical flutter of capes concealing your meal
Caged birds sing of lands far away
“Just where am I?” – don’t question, dear reader
For the silk of this tablecloth will tear
And forever you’ll be blinded to the possibility....

Quick As Piranha
Quick as Piranha

Tucked in a booth in back,
the last customer of the day
cracks a fortune cookie,

sips Oolong as Mr. Hong
locks up. It’s time for his supper.
Two tall sons bear

from the kitchen dishes
his wife won’t allow
on the menu.

Platters of meat
red, green, brown
huddle and steam

in the middle of the table.
When the Hongs
drop in their seats

chopsticks fly
like beaks. So many bright teeth,
quick as piranha.
