High winds
Clouds, pelting rain
Outter skirts of a storm
Hurricane Matthew exhibits strength
Return?
hail
falling
sky crystals
tapping pelting
rat-a-tat-tatting
sidewalk prancers
confetti
while rain
hail
pelting the sidewalk
streams of gentling rain
music who will stalk
dancing through the pain
floods roll as we rock
The wind howled
The mountain glowed
The sky roared
The heart thundered
The pelting rain
Washed the pain
The heart again
Joy regained
driving away slow
enchanted by metaphors…
rice pelting our car
white picket fences ahead
dented cans streaming behind

~ You and I ~
Down comes the rain
pelting the ground
Out comes the sun
with a rainbow crowned
Along comes the wind
lapping up puddles
Nature's at play... You and I
~ we snuggle and cuddle
we wake to grayness
flash flood warnings
and mud slides on the news
constant rain pelting on roofs
small lakes and ponds in yards
drainpipes pulsing and gushing
evacuation a rare but possibility
monsoon in California
I want the summer storm
with rolling dark clouds
and the sound of crashing thunder
I want to watch
streaks of flashing
lightening cut through
the sky like a knife
and feel the breeze
of pelting rain
as it hits the pavement
Dancing to the tune of iniquity,
Deviously artless in their silent retreat,
Elusively lashing out unjustly,
Pelting out timorous creeds;
A casualty in their vapid beliefs,
Brought upon by diligent lunacy,
Primed in erroneous ideologies.
Sun
brilliant, hot
warming, shining, baking
daylight, beams, showers, deluge
drizzling, streaming, pelting
melodious, refreshing

Soft wet droplets refresh my dull senses:
as the soaking overcast drives me insane
with the sweet faint fragrance of champagne
and the continuing pelting drenching rain
by the sea shore and dry open plain

A mute cacophony rings between my ears.
The silent dungeonous din of the pelting stone past.
And in that roaring, the hauntings come
and the black dog, waiting, salivating, silently saunters alongside the
specters and, heavy, blankets me in darkness.
magic oil released in the air
prior to rainfall
alerting us to earthworms
and April showers
Being a pluviophile I adore
the fragrance of petrichor
it opens up my memory
light delicate rains
and cold bitter pelting rains
I savor this scent in silence
raindrops falling lightly
tapping against my windshield
raindrops falling harshly
pelting against closed house windows
raindrops playing tricks with my mind
kissing my soft skin
playing peek a boo in my hair
moistening my lips
raindrops falling, falling, stop
Rain pelting on roof
when there should be snow...
visions of lilies
on descending slopes.
Let's climb that hill,
and then lay down...
to feel heartbeats
of ecstacy.
Our sweet voices
on soft winds...
seek Heaven.
But
can urge
end?

pelting summertime
a sun, sneers hot terrible
after the grasses
~
rain down summertime
a cool, wet breeze waters falls
onto the grasses

It’s rains sometimes:
Pouring, pelting,
Melting the snow,
Dissolving the ice below.
Sometimes the sun shines:
Warming, comforting,
Melting the snow
Dissolving the ice below.
Like life sometimes:
Pouring, pelting,
Dissolving, melting
Heart and soul below.
rain
wet, moist
drizzling, pelting, falling
cloudburst, precipitation, effulgence, luster
beaming, radiating, shimmering
bright, lustrous

Pitter patter raindrops are slapping
The windows pelting at the glass
Like chipped bone hacked and splintered
Wind whipped and catapulted
The wood of the house dulls the sound
But the glass twinpained amplifies
The droplets Pitter Patter, Patter,Pitter
An unnatural sound to disturb sleep
**Haiku**
bitter wind blows stout
pelting icy snow crystals….
cold winter’s harsh thoughts
**Senryu**
treed primate postures
like Indian totem pole….

I once loved
an anchor
one of those
that sails
on skin
one of those
that has
a rowing heart
and pelting blood
within
One of those
who blows
mussel covered
kisses
one of those
that tells
mermaids salty lies
one of those
who'll
go down with
rum and shackles
the day he finally
dies.

Pelting shapely pebbles into the lucid lake,
Lonely, among daffodils and golden mandrakes,
And rejoicing the dance of silver flakes,
A delicate penumbra catches his fancy great,
And in a sweep, away, his heart does take.
Ruthless in love and incredible in stake,
He dives deep down,
Into his own grave.
Heaven’s Dew
Or
God’s Tears

The cadence of raindrops
Pelting the window pane,
Creates an unwritten story
Complete, but without name;
Rain could be God’s tears
Shed for his creation?
Birthed with a sinful nature,
He loves us just the same.
Rain

Rain, pelting on brown leaves,
Causes premature falling.
I contemplate, droughts reprieve,
and night sounds calling.
Night sounds, that to a Creator rejoice,
So, while still among the living.
I too, begin happily lending my voice,
For rain, that God is giving.
Who hears the rain better than I?
Softly at first, almost a sigh.
Then pelting, melting, hard on the roof
Angry, yet soothing,
Do you need more proof?
The rain is my pal,
My buddy, my friend.
I love when it comes,
My day at an end.
Some hate the rain,
Though I cannot agree
I live for the rain
When it falls just for me.
