Mayan Gold
Cocoa pods ripe…

Bitter made sweet.

Packaged as treasures

For you, and for me....

A Cheese Amendment
The cheese board met with Mr. Insane.
As a block they want cheese to remain.
So Mr. President’s heading,
to ban packaged shredding,
to make America grate once again....

Porch Pirates
These porch pirates are quite the wise guys
so thought of a plan to help their demise
unheard and absurd
I packaged pet turds
boy were they in for a rare gift surprise!

Seeds
A seed is buried in dirt to grow
Its future packaged within
Destined only for greatness
From seed to Sequoia
Like beautiful trees rise from ugly seeds
Beauty rises out of ashes in due season...

Psychedelia
Rocking sun drips away like butter
Sunlight bleeds through curtains
in rose hung despair

Berry stained lips
taste sweet but
bloom as rare as
the seeds of packaged measure
she blended into poems...

Baking Math
Have you noticed yet
the absurd disconnect of measurement?
Have you noticed yet
puréed pumpkin, any filling I’d bet,
is packaged just shy of the requirement?
So another is needed to augment?
Have you noticed yet?...

The Tigers Cage
Freedom comes packaged
entrapped and confined

How big is your cage,
 to roam and define

Always constricted,
with borders that move

Its bars of detention
—forever reproved

(Dreamsleep: January, 2021)...

Me Not
You are like a spider
on the running water
hunting fish and insects in the river
I see you can feed yourself
on whatever you catch,
Me not, Honey,
and keep it in mind,
I am not a pre-packaged food
on the shelf...

A Cautionary Ditty Concerning Fast Food
There was a girl called Polly Esther,
the fastest girl from downtown Leicester.
Pre-packaged food was her sole fare,
For healthy meals she had no care.
In the tum for food there's room.
There plastic wrappings end in doom...

My Block
Sirens and metro buses
Detectives and narcs
Hustlers and thieves.

Friends and foes
Currency and narcotics
Bums and dope fiends.

Soft or hard
Packaged or dumped
White or green.

Love and disdain
Loyalty and trust
Hope and shattered dreams
This is my block....

Premium Member How
How?
How can I explain the way
I love you
It is like my love of God
My love for nature
My love poetry
My love for beauty
    And indefinable happiness
My endless search for perfection
Instead of ending up in verse
Has been pettily packaged in a woman
Who gave her love to me...

Fluorescent Wasteland
salt flats
stretch for miles
in grocery stores
chip isle, frozen foods
seven and thirteen, respectively
reflect their shine
of white light
enticement

all organisms dried up,
fifteen per cent more, but lacking
in this pre-packaged
wasteland
where nothing ever grows
or dares to walk without
a list to double check....

Premium Member Wanderlust
On drowsy hamlets mobile hordes descend,
From tight-lipped forests rises a babel.
Wanderlust is to distant wonders sent,
As fleets of long-haul birds skyward rumble.
Where massed footprints to virgin lands extend,
And sights are packaged for all to sample,
Coy beauties in nature’s bosom held dear
From between heaven and earth disappear....

Dear Mother He Sang
Time was once a letter sent
A thinly packaged salutation
Revealing reads and rushes
A content discourse situation

Story lines entwined grapevines
Most privately complicit
A baton passed a relay cast
Too confidential to elicit

Artistic flair in swirling script
Stylish prose self styled emphatic
A photographic written pose
Of diatonic scale chromatic...

Universale Excusatione
Pristine elements exist here,
carbon facsimiles are forged,
in Proper Space,
in Proper Time,
expectant and delivered, all packaged,
uncontrollability in a controlled environment.

I offer Universal Apologies.
Oh the atrocities I commit in parallel worlds.
So hold me, and hold me responsible,
responsibly.
I am finite in my infinity,
I am futile in my future....

Degradation of Environment
He sat on a wooden chair
In front of him was a wooden table
On it was placed some paper
a bottle of packaged drinking water
Some disposable glasses
He had invited people attend his lecture on degradation of environment

So many people talking about it
No one doing anything...

And I am not ashamed to admit
I am one of them.
Worst part is I am criticising him....

Listen to poem:
Crop Rows as The Way Things Ought to Grow
David J Walker

Your rain falls uniformly in a
Row on gardens that grow in a
Straight-line while

Mine is subject to the
Wind and sun and falls in

Layers of composted Ataxia
Keeping in mind

The perception of the aesthetics
of perfection that is packaged

in the planning of crop rows
as the way things ought to grow...

Meeting You Again
You stir your latte slowly
an old habit of yours
a delicate studied frown.

I wonder when your mannerisms
became perfectly packaged
fashion statements?
When did you turn a camera
inwards into your scripted life?
Just when did you begin
to act-out this caricature?

As you turn your spoon,
as you gather together
your carefully prepared replies,
my interest in you
flat-lines....

Premium Member Droppings In Rows
Santa came with his reindeer
Swiftly did they fly
Over hills and valleys
Decorating night sky

The only thing they left me
On the new fallen snow
Was not even packaged
Little brown droppings all in rows

(This was not an original idea
My church sent my husband
and my self a little bag with
Chocolate Covered Peanuts
all tied up with a bow and
a little poem telling about the
droppings.)...

Fake Food
in this world of fake things
Nothing is more fake
Than the food we eat

Most of the fake food crap we eat
Is nothing but chemicals
And flavorings

Added to a small amount
Of real food

All packaged and sold
And marketed

Scientifically designed to taste good
So we eat the poisoned food
And get sicker and sicker

While the food industry giants
Make obscene profits
Selling us poison...

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
Loud discussions never categorized as arguments
Spoken at a register unheard of on most days
Come to fruition here
All that is said falling between a purple unicorn and a 4.2 on the Richter scale
Either niceties to the point of unbelievability
Or disaster to the point of collapsibility
Exchanging highly charged words packaged inside cheerful familial wrappings
The unspoken tradition lives on

Merry Christmas...
