When
when passion once burned does re-ignite
thoughts of you come late at night
a spark once more from mounds of ash
building a bridge so love can pass...

Life's Lesson
Endless paths, many turns
All leading to somewhere, anywhere, nowhere
Bridges built and bridges burned
Everything has a reason
Always with a lesson
Trust takes time to build
Once burned, impossible to rebuild...

A Flame Once Burned
Plasma which makes flame
vanishes once heat
consumes oxygen
and sparse fuel, leaving
only cold ashes.

The refuse lies.
Warmth and brightness
live without form,
intangible.

Flame itself
never dies,
only waits,

patient;
set to

start.

A Scarlet Heart
highs and lows of a loved that glowed
the ins and outs of what I know
darkness and light, day to night
candles extinguished that once burned bright

open my lips and speak the words
I love you floats and is not heard
but it was here for you to see
a scarlet heart worn on my sleeve...

Premium Member In Waning Years
In waning years By: Miracle Man August 12,2020 Life resembles an old tin plate sepia, faded, and worn. It reveals road signs, in earlier times, that i ignored. Now, i reminisce, encountering days, of feeling forlorn. but in Jesus, the bridges I once burned, have been restored.

A Flame Once Burned
All I had to do was love her with all my heart and it would be OK.
I clung to her to save her life, as she wriggled.
Love, a propped up cardboard cutout,
Trust, her whipping boy
Hope, a bloodied and bruised up mess, with its eyes swollen shut.
A flame once burned, my ray of hope; and she placed it beneath her spoon....

Cinderella
Miss me not for I am here
Tell me all your fears
Touch me now for I am cold
Warmth has left the embers
A glow is all that is left, from a fire that once burned and raged
I am only a shadow of Girl
For the sun has set on my innocence
Kiss me on cheek
And rock me now to sleep
my dreams of Cinderella I shall keep...

Fail
what do you do
when you refuse to give up
but the world has already given up on you?
do you continue on this endless cycle of failure
and disappointment
or do you just stop trying
stop running
stop looking forward
sit in one spot
stare at the ground
and let the world eat you up
until you're nothing more
than a dream that once was
a candle that once burned
a bird that never learned to fly...

A Flame Once Burned
Quick as the late night breeze crept around my neck
Your love began to hold me ,grip me
And I didn't want it to let go of me

Snip,snip,snip the scissors went
Right through our relationship
You and I once was
Now its You , I

The ending came to quickly
Though it ended sweetly
Never did we miss a beat
Never did we cry defeat
Of a battle lost ,but won

A Flame Once Burned
I know that we must surely part
Another shines within your heart
The closeness gone, the magic dead
Your love belongs to her instead

The tears I shed, unseen, unheard
And once you hung on every word
Resigned, I see I lost the fight
Our love won’t last another night

Usurped, I toss my ring away
It’s pointless begging you to stay

Someone once burned a pentagram outside my friend's apartment
the day after, in the courtyard, he stripped off all his clothes
silently perching on one leg by the edge of the pool
A faceless neighbor giggled "he's gone flamingo".
after a brief scuffle -they carted him off to jail...
Hesitantly I posted bail I couldn't afford
the very next day
he stood on two legs
and put in a
honest days
work....

Chasing Disaster
Chasing disaster
Run to the fire
Entombing passion
Killing desires
Walking in darkness
Trek through the mire
Taking the low road
Resting by fires
Dismissing the rumors
Acknowledged
Revised
Betrayed too often
Severed the ties
Wolves in sheeps clothing
Many wrong turns
Steering towards destiny
On bridges once burned
Burdens too heavy
Weight wears me down
Swimming still sinking
Waiting to drown...

A Flame Once Burned
Oh well...Here I go again...
Whispering obscurities to the paper with my pen

Sleeping slowly - The lights are always on
Feeding my vanity
with your memories long gone

It's always just like this
A flame once burned
Damning the righteousness
Of the things you said
Or rather I didn't say

The lives that we live - or another rainy day

The phone rings and time talks
My day passes and the wick is all I've got

Love Under Glass
Love Under Glass

I'm tired of believing
that love is all it takes
as I keep apologizing
and make the same mistakes
a heart has many pieces
for easy are its breaks
do not hold to tightly
be in absence does it ache
teardrops fall in puddles
slowly turning into lakes
which somehow quench the fire
that once burned down Heaven's gates

shadow of darkness
endowed with Hells passion
releasing the slaves

Worthless
You're not worth the tears
I've cried night after night
The fire that once burned inside me
You can no longer ignite

You aren't worth the dreams
I've led myself to believe
I know now that all along
Your intention was to deceive

You're not worth the pain
That I feel deep inside
You never cared about us
Just about your stupid pride

You're not worth the effort
It took to say we're through
It's taken this long for me to see
You're not the man I knew...

Do crows carry the black hearts of souls
Is this were the light fades away from the heart that once burned so bright
Loss Love transforms what burned so bright to blackness

Fragility of the mind so torments the heart
In spirit we float seeking out those to love
Only to come across the sea of crows
There they pluck out the hearts that lay
Loss love in the sea of crows

Tormented
Tormented
Soul

The blackness I bare witness to
For I am tormented by the loss love...

What Once Burned
what once burned hot on a spring night
dwindles, extinguished like a tallow's light
nothing to sustain, nothing to hold
as it all fades away into afterglow

what once held dreams in sleepless arms
a kiss of a lover with all of its charms
hangs heavy and weightless in a darkened room
the fragrance remaining from its musky perfume

what once played on a mountain breeze
a love song lilting through mesquite trees
evanesce gone like the lyrics sung
over too soon, never begun...

Flame Has Now Gone Out
A flame once burned
Deep within my soul
Love we both yearned
Now I am no longer whole

God took that flame away
Left me alone to slowly die
What a price I have to pay
For loving, now I live a lie

Why take one life
When two were entwined
Was to become his wife
Why leave me behind

Now I walk alone
Write poetry and paint
Sad and so forlorn
Now living in restraint.

Live in life’s shadow
Sun I am without
Heart is full of sorrow
Flame has now gone out.

Echoes of a Silent Heart
Echoes of a silent heart remain,
Whispers of love, and joy, and pain.
A love that once burned bright and true,
Now lost in the mist, like morning dew.

Memories linger, like a haunting refrain,
A love that once was, but could not sustain.
Questions linger, in the depths of the mind,
Why did it end? What did we leave behind?

Echoes of a silent heart remain,
Whispers of love, and joy, and pain.
A love that once burned bright and true,
Now lost in the mist, like morning dew....
