That Gaze, Once Turned

That gaze, once turned
Smiles upon me forever.
Those eyes, once burned
As stars never go out.
This earth one keeps
Sunblest for day, though set
Yet in song; in perfume yet.
This earth, moreover
Clear for night, against Time's will
Still pain-assuaged. Tranquil still.
