Black Oak Tree In Stratford, New Jersey

In the South New Jersey town of Stratford grew a southern black oak tree. It’s now a lifeless stump.

Spring In December

Instead of snow, it's rain;
cherry trees have blossomed in Brooklyn,
so did tulips along the bay...
even New Jersey has seen Nature in play!

The Worst Fear

Fear of flying,
Fear of crying,
Fear of being afraid,
Fear of dying early
And fear that when you get to the promise land,
It will just be New Jersey.

To Earth He Came

An alien came to earth called James
Looking for a New Jersey dame
He found one on the soup
    Amidst this amazing troop
And revelled at her writing fame

People Unworthy

People Unworthy

Are some people who are unworthy
And others who have been earthy
Concerned about the environment
Where the good Flint water went
What about Christie in New Jersey?

The Value of New Jersey

New Jersey is the type of place
Where you pay more and more
As you get older
While simultaneous the value
Of experiences grow less and less
Until one day
You're in a nursing home IV strapped
Sipping apple juice and leaking in a bed pan

Ilene Can Write

My fellow poet Ilene can write. I look for all her new poems on this site. To read her work is surely a delight. Being a resident of New Jersey, seeing how she expresses herself is easy. Ilene is so adept at poetry.

The Night

The wingless eagle
went to the party of the owls
with his own wisdom
Intimidating the impostors
of the night
with his past glory
Exposing the shadows
of their dark indulgence
—with a killers eye

Rather Prosaic

There once was a poet from Passaic*
All his poems were rather prosaic --
   He'd heard it worked nice
To throw in some spice --
~ 'Twas expired, now his penning's archaic

*Passaic is a town in the state of New Jersey (USA)

Ocean View

There's a town on Route 9 in New Jersey at the southern part. It's in Cape May county along the Atlantic coast. This small town is called Ocean View. You'll see the term is a misnomer. When you are there, you can't see the ocean.

Feel Better Now

So you don’t feel well
You’re under the weather
You can’t breath
And you feel like hell

You got a sore throat
You wish you would die
And that’s all that she wrote
You’re achy and teary
Life’s just one big misery
But it’s really not that bad
You could be in New Jersey

Love Sory Pt 9 (Only 92 More To Go)

What's my love to you?
Am I just another guy coming from New Jersey?
News flash, we're both from New Jersey.
Two different people coming together can make a giant sound wave.

Lets come together and make our own fairy tale.
You and I can stop falling now. It was all a dream.

He Sang Like Sinatra

A New Jersey-ite, his name Hobo Ken
For singing ballads, he had quite a yen
  He would sing like Sinatra
  From Vegas to Sumatra
On rails he rode with fellow jobless men

Lovely Regal Frogs

Lovely regal frogs from New Jersey are all that
Their swollen freckles puffed up big and fat.
Elaborate crowns are golden with emerald splat.
On lily pad thrones, they reside, true floating mats.
In the calm pond waters, they live away from big cats.
King and queen of the bayou, at Tornado Flats.

The Little Wonder

On the Mid-Atlantic East Coast is where we are.
From Philly and New York, we are not too far.

We have theme parks, sights to see, and a great shoreline.
For a reasonable vacation, it’s a place considered fine.

This is my home where many fun times are reality.
It is the little wonder everybody knows as “New Jersey”

Two Royals On a Mission - a Riddle

They parachute nude into urban New Jersey,
two Brits on a mission to claim their nobility,
a Prince and his Princess, infantile, ill equipped,
out to reconquer America, their rightful home.

                     *******

A synopsis of a novel written by a British author.
Have you heard of it? or better yet have you read it?

Hint: His initials are M.H.
