Autumn Wind

autumn
wind mutters
something which sets the
black poplars ashake with mirth

the leaves
fly over
the window - utter
a word as they pass - listen

So Few Are Good People

In this day in age there are so few good people that can see the truth,
The truth that mutters (Society as a whole is the problem and the solution itself).

Leaves Are Leaving

From whitened trees, leaves are leaving
Releasing fall, color flutters
Upon the wind's icy mutters
With a ruby river weaving
Homage to a season's grieving

The Smoking Room

Mutters in the corner,
Halfheard mumblings of conversations,
Uninteresting lives. Dull.
Smoke from tabs mixing with
Cold breath, dancing their escape.
Staring.
Dreaming.
Slate grey walls holding up a shanty roof.
Rain falls, pitter pat
Random thoughts.
Huddle together - apart.

Dismay Matters

She dubs
worn thin
sounds
that assault
bounce back
further spread
in barbed spikes
of dark and
ruby delicacy

mutters
of consternation
furthermore,
panics
she will
break or
go down
in tears

screeches
 fill her
dreams
her mouth
her ears

Daydream

The scarred desk, littered
with the wrinkles of young,
melts into chocolate

canary
easter bunny
birdsong

My ear mutters
"Are you there"
not able to finish

my homework
grinding
pepper

she reduces herself to glossed lips -
they gloss over everything

dull
turn on the light

The Ceiling Fan

The ceiling fan that surveys the room
With its unbiased demeanour...
& sickening pace...
Mutters abuses to me...
As if it doesn't like my company...

But helpless that I'm...
I simply have to bear the bluntness...
Owing to the sweltering summer...
I can not imagine a life without its company....!

LIBRARY THOUGHTS 3

Sense stillness soar beyond bright beams,
Observe odd oar swift silence screams.

Note nowhere now those tensions taut,
Each end endows frame fickle fraught.

Green grass gathers such simple sods,
Meek mind mutters old offers odd.

When-Who-What-Why

When?
Master Buffoon
To wed Mistress May Lune
Raced to the church in July
On the day set for June.

Who?
Mr Snide's
Contempt and pride
Prompts him to pinch
Then run to hide.

What?
Missy Strutter's
Angry mutters
Could fill and flood
The empty gutters.

Why?
Mr Ponders
Sits and wonders
Why the grass
Is greener yonder?

Stalker Remix

He stands at her window,
eager to look in, though
he feels like a creep.

He felt this self loathing
pawing through her clothing.
Still, he wants to peep.

Squinting through the shutters,
heatedly, he mutters
to her in her sleep.

Frenzied in his rant he's
nuzzling the panties
he made sure to keep.

Storm Comes Goes

Clouds rock up vengeful
mouthing off - ranting, raging
spitting bolts willy-nilly
But tantrum passes,
temper abates with mutters
as clouds roll on by, in sky.

Clouds rubbed, get charged up
like people pricked and prodded
build up static energy,
till the threshold reached,
out pops the lightning flashing,
thunder banging and crashing.

Deep In the Basement

Deep in the basement of the east wing
Lady Penelope keeps a Thing
    With big teeth and claws
    And horrible jaws
And feeds it her husband’s old flings.

While sister Edith keeps under covers
A creature that crawls and gibbers and mutters,
    That’s disgusting and spiny,
    Appalling and slimy,
And feeds it her old boyfriends and lovers.

Living By the Day

I close my eyes
Awaiting the roll of dice
Don’t know
Where heading
Ultimately lives shattered
Or happy ending
Her thoughts visit
Heart aflutter
The overshadowed mind
A warning mutters
I too know
Nowhere relationship
Doubts come out
Thick, fast and loud
Heart takes over
‘Live today
For tomorrow
Nobody can say’
We continue
Living by the day
Moments happy, joyous and gay

Whispers of Wisdom

Her smile splatters
on the pages of many waters...
She speaks of short-lived serenity;
a tale of caution for humanity.

Her silence flutters
within the shores of mighty waters...
She reflects the radiance of noon rays
but will be unseen while noon reigns.

The full moon mutters
a word which to the wise matters...
Frail fables to those who feign freedom,
but to the simple, whispers of wisdom.

Loss

The craving of the heart Intensified by the start Of the wheel of life Filled with endless strife. The mind mutters words Double edged swords Cutting through the shell Leaving an immortal yell. Pain, it filters through Like the light chill of dew Down my veins it goes Till the tip of my toes. The world is forlorn The road is still long Loss seems unending The wounds unmending.

Better

Bitter black coffee and piping hot tea
Sit a-steaming and a-boiling just for me.
The java spits and sputters, and mutters in its wrath;
The yellow shrieks and bellows out of its kettle's mouth.
Spitter sputter, sput spit, whoo whoo whee!
Better bitter black coffee and piping hot tea
When the winter nights are raving
And the snowflakes are a-sailing,
Than ice-cream and candybars
Under a summer night's bright stars.

Ye Gods, What Now

Sitting in the bar; perusing the headlines:
From “Galileo Forced to Recant Statement that Earth Orbits Sun”
To “China Bans Reincarnation without Government Permission” -
Yahweh grimaces and hands Zeus another beer
As He mutters, “What were we Thinking?”
Thor turns to Meteora: “What about another game of darts, darlin’?”
Buddha just rolls His eyes
And sighs
As Jesus and Mohammed discuss hitching a ride to another galaxy

A Fistful of Minutes

"a breezy yet comfortable autumn day...ah, so lovely!" - quote by poet.

his eyes flutter shut a fistful of minutes,
a much welcome respite into himself.
he sits in the shadow of a jacaranda tree.
as he listens to the mutters of dry foliage,
  a lone nightingale - nature's crown jewel -
cheerfully tweets sonorous melodies for him;
      it's as if he's entered heaven's gate.

A Thousand Miles An Hour

A thousand miles an hour
This fete a break through
I scan the speedometer, inset odometer
Stuck in the traffic Jam a thousand, without a move
I wonder!

Fellow citizen passes on wheel chair
A thousand far cry shy
Overtaking treacherously
Counting his steps is staccato
He stops and wonders, boss
Sorry, he muses, poor boy, he mutters
The Jam’s got to take another thousand
And I stare at the speedometer
A thousand miles an hour
The break through.

Feathered Dream Catcher's

Within a catcher, dreams do scream
feathers redeem
man's sullied soul
sweet dreams the goal

Within their vanes they transfix
each demon lick
each channeling's
imaginings

Within the web they flutter, curs
nightmare mutters
beaded offerings
each feather sings

Percolated Coffee

From sleep to wake she mutters.
Her mind stalls, mumbled words she stutters.
The walls guide her down their dim lit hall.
It is but a crawl, as her coffee does call.
No automatic drip, no self-timed event.
Morning ritual, to her time well spent.
From beginning to end, that old coffee pot.
Guarantees , that her java stays hot.
So, before her day starts, there is one thing for sure.
She will always partake, of her percolated, coffee, cure.

Exhaustion

It ends with a crash.
Exhaustion.
It’s a wobbly feeling in my feet.
When I’m walking, on the sidewalk.
Three days ago, I slept.
But that notion is far away now.
I had so many opportunities to sleep.
With a blanket, and bed.
And comfort.
This feeling of my feet collapsing under me.
It feels cold, and spreading.
The crowd mutters.
The crowd wonders.
The crowd makes me a spectacle.
My heartbeat.
My blood pressure.
When did I last sleep?
I don’t.
