stripes snaking through verdent grasses
we follow along in a helicopter
appreciating that natives are free

not locked in zoos, separated by bars...

Raping the Muse
yeah, right
there where the flower blossoms
and flags
where mustangs rove the prairie
and two nebulas lose their
virginity in a cheap motel
room where you are an
unsaddled bellhop
flogging a dead
idea....

This Is My Home
Sage grows wildly Covering the mountain view Mustangs grazing mildly on the early morning dew In the early AM The wild horses mosey and roam Light reflecting off them A single tree and stone become a dome This majestic place is my home

Mustangs are wild and free
Always moving forward
And never turning back

They run under the sky
And sleep under the stars
As one family

They run though the grass
And swim in the water
Conquering the land

With the wind in their hair
And freedom in their eyes
They are mustangs

Premium Member Where Mustangs Run Wild and Free
So free

all the mustangs

running wild in the plains

side by side as they neigh

In my dream I rode one like a cowboy

I wish I could spirit away

to the beautiful plains

where mustangs run

so free

Premium Member Admiring Brother Horse
Paiute warrior horses cannot outrun wild quarter horses.
Spanish mustangs and Chickasaw ponies run past.
Taunting and daring native americans to try and corral them.

Paiute warriors admire the way brother horse runs.
He is outfoxing them, wise and wonderful in his wildness.
They turn back to their homeland, knowing they have been bested....

Wild Mustangs
An ache, some hurt with longing to yearn
Cauldron left to simmer with passion
Bubbles in the fire ball of desire
Closely watch topless metaphors;

Animal instinct with intuition
Gets drawn in a desperate hunger
As she is wooed in the foreplay
Melodious moments with sensation;

Makes her cower to his firm will,
For she loves the rapture and thrill:...

HORSE

Hell-bent stallion muscles led the mustangs through the plain,

On their heels rode hard a hired man –his job to rope the best--

Rearing high the stallion—urging speed as autumn winds dance thru his mane.

Sheets of lighting limned silhouettes as they pounded toward the west--

Enchanted now the man reined in—this day let beauty rule his breast....

Weak wagon wheel
Results, have to trail on end
Can't stop to fix broken wheel

Fast Mustangs on the ridge
With arrows resting in bows
Not just for a show

Limerick croisés : There was a wily woman from Spain

There was a wily woman from Spain
Who thought she could take much sizzling pain
She let herself be split
By mustangs in a fit
So that’s why she kept howling in vain

In a new town that rhymes much with tail
Dwarf made it to the top on a pail
Then he filled up her lake
With his sprung tail to take
A bath in the leaking pail and wail !

A Past Cries
The morning cries with pieces of you
Down to the ground with the early dew
Hearing winds that say your name
Like wild mustangs; never tamed
A broken soul shouts like shattered glass
A bridge burned; never to pass
Sights seen; but are not there
When time stands still …stillness I hear.
Bury me, help me, save me
My path is broken; having to pay the fee
My suffering sought, down to my knees
No more can I do, as the morning cries with pieces of you....

Rainstorm
The desperate trees, lighting bolts
Against the grayness
Of the approaching storm
Spilling onto the horizon,
Like wild mustangs
Racing across the waving prairies
Their galloping hoofs becoming
Rolling peals of thunder.

Rain like a soaking sheet
Hanging from a clothesline,
Drags across farmers’ fields
And yellow raincoats dash over the soggy earth
Towards home.

Now, dripping raincoats
Are hanging behind the door
As cold hands are warmed
Before crackling flames....
