How I miss you

when the stars
come out to play
the good sleep
and evil wakes
from the enveloping dread
rises a mushroom cloud
to devour us....

Anger
Anger
On the surface, eyes closed, hands shaking
Paralyzing, soaking through my pores
Deep inside, welling within me
A rising mushroom cloud of bubbling acid
I feel it coming, but by then it’s to late
A self justified burst of atomic energy
Sweet release, hits like a runaway train
Everyone around me recoiling in fear...

I saw the mushroom cloud
Far out on the horizon
Tried to ring you
To say goodbye
But the EP
Had already
Killed the phone
I would never make it home
Never ever
Ever
More urgent
Is it to tell
How you feel
About the ones
You care for
.....
.....
.....
Tomorrow may
Not come

As I woke up
It was a beautiful
Sunrise
With birdsong
And morning dew....

Through the Mist I See
My hand strokes the Crystal Ball
I peer, as it fills with Mist
Then appears a Mushroom Cloud
I cannot see where

A child alone and crying
on a filthy run down street
A Military Tyrant
as he shakes his fist

A barren field, void of life
parched, the Earth is deeply cracked
But wait! Through the Mist I see
a Rose stands alone.

Pollution
Fish are belly up so is the burnt-out train.
In a few months
we may have a herd
of two-headed calves.

The Ohio is polluted they say.
Nevertheless here I am in my skiff
letting the current take me down to the Mississippi
or maybe just to Indiana for some lunch.

Not going to fish though.

I light a pipeful of 'Captain Black Regular'
let the smoke rise up
like a mushroom cloud
of love....

Sunlight
The darkness begins
and truth is sacrificed
for expediency.
Wihout sunlight
lies become the norm.
Tell us the mushroom cloud is coming,
in the dark we will not see
as cackling laughter
echoes down the halls of deceit.
And then, just apologize
drawing the shades ever tighter.
Institutions of corruption
ever saying ... sorry
ever saying ... don't worry
Uncle Sam won't deny
your inalienable right
to sunlight....

Premium Member Forget Me Not
All the Myths are twisted.

Merlin warned King Arthur
of the Minotaur.
He had no need of twine-
his War Horse was Pegasus.

At the Labyrinth's end his Atomic Spear
pierced the Tauran Eye.
He had no thought of Camelot.

White wings lifted him
above the mushroom cloud–
through the purple gates-
to Satans' Den.

Merlin sat scowling at the Lady of the Lake -
Excalibur’s sheath had bloomed with
Forget - Me – Nots,
and Merlin's Crystal ball
was shrouded in a Nuclear Winter....

Say No To Violence
Tsunami! Caused by a mushroom cloud,
Mommy help me! I heard from the crowd,
People ran here and there,
No shelter to be found anywhere,
Whoever unleashed the bomb did not care,
It caused massive destruction everywhere,
Bombs and Guns are made for strife,
Manufactured and designed to take a life,
It doesn't matter who's strong in might,
Common Sense tells me a fight is a fight,
Say no to violence its the right thing to do,
When you say no to violence it protects me,
It protects you,...
