Drunken Fairies

Drunken fairies flutter by hedges,
Friesian heifers graze grass to the edges
Of fields where tufts of meadow grass grow,
Smothering weeds and roots below.

In Praise of a Kimo

We move like cats through the tall meadow grass
Searching for something we lost
Only to find ourselves

meadow grass swaying
as larks serenade their mates. . .
wind softly sighing

On Feathered Wings

In the midst of this starry night
I lie upon a bed of meadow grass
Moonbeams providing ample light
To watch the world silently pass
On feathered wings, a lark took flight
I feel like Alice inside her looking glass

The Cowboy

Your hair is the meadow grass
Your eyes the big sky
The lines carved on your face
Speak the cruelty of the place
You call home

The saddle formed your stance
Ropes, your calloused hands
Your quiet confidence tells me
Of months spent on the prairie
All alone

Impacts of Oneness

Here, our love was first cast in impacts of oneness ~ ~
now mocking meadow grass clasps me, chained to numbness.

Vast tears rip me with shaking-grips of steady spill ~ ~
heartbreak and tears weaken me, beat from their drummed trill.

Rip Van Winkle (Eap)

Legend has said, he left his bed, and slept outdoors instead:

With the rustling leaves of green and yellow
And the sky lark singing soft and mellow
In the shelter of a weeping willow
As the meadow grass became his pillow

The Firefly

Dancing in the moonlight,
Twinkling through the trees,
Sparkling in the meadow grass,
Like diamonds on the leaves.

Flitting 'bout the garden,
'Midst the Jasmine and the rose,
No one knows from whence they come,
But everybody knows,

That Summer brings the fireflies,
With gaily twinkling lights,
To decorate the evening,
Like jewels in the night.

Winter Weather

Winter winds seem angry this morning...
Pulling at the branches, teasing the last leaves
My song is quickly swept away, my voice scatters
The last of the brown meadow grass dances...

The weather is changeable this time of year....
Pink tinged skies quickly spread across the horizon
My step hurries home, I pull my coat closer
Wanting to rest by the fire, and listen to winter.

In the Meadow

In the Meadow, I hear a POP!
Drip Drop , Drip Drop!
I can't seem to hear the Clip, Clop!
So off I run with a little Hip-Hop!

In the Meadow, I hear a POP!
Drip Drop, Drip Drop!
As I near, my Heartbeat gives a Stop!
My Stomach does the tightest Flip-Flop!

In the Meadow, I hear a POP!
Drip Drop, Drip Drop!
I howl on seeing the Butcher's Shop!
Onto the Meadow grass, I Slip-Slop!

To Witness the Unbearable Chop!
Blood of my Horse, Drip Drop!

Hush of Night

In the midst of each starry night
I lay upon a bed of meadow grass
Moonbeams provide ample light
To watch the world silently pass

In the night I enjoy the gentle hush
It's a time when I pray in undertone
In darkness there is no need to rush
I welcome the solitude of being alone

I revel in wonder when night is still
A nightingale sings a beautiful song
I close weary eyes and drink my fill
In dreams the night is where I belong.

Meadow Grass

C-rimson beacon Sunday
L-ets the day and sky meet;
E-arly light has come out,
N-ew dawn and morn both
G-reet.

C-old wind chill passes by,
O-n twenty-ninth of January;
N-o more mist and haze,
C-ool breeze brings glory.
E-vening shadows disappear,
P-ouring rain fades away;
C-oal clouds are all gone
I-nto the dark, blue, and gray.
O-ne birthday is remembered, forgetting things of the past;
N-ice feeling is obvious, as you lie on the meadow grass.
