Thought of the Day

Are we awake in the waking state ~

Slices of Splash

For a slice of splash
From the yellow and green sky
Through a chance window
Both you and I lie in wait
Sands of our blue time restless

Lost Souls

We spew hat.
We stay out late.
We tempt fate.
We shed innocent blood.
We are called studs.
We lie in wait.
We are always safe.
We take the broad path.
We ignore the narrow gate.
We grow old.
We lose our souls.

The Holy Road

Your voice like smoke,
 it calls from the distance

Luring your enemy into
 winds of deceit

The clouds of your fathers,
hiding hailstones above

Disguising the truth
—as you lie in wait

Winds of Doctrine

“That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;”

Carried about by every wind of doctrine…..

Logic Is a Steel Horse

Logic is a steel horse who never brays
And can tell you not of the days
You lie in wait and feel its cry
Of another century that you die

Lovers lick the silken threads
And care not if they’re live or dead
For they know that they will
Love again, in the meadow that never ends

The Devil At the Gate

Does corruption blind intelligence,
does greed devour truth

Will intention cast the final vote,
its motives never moot

As David slew Goliath,
Lilliputians lie in wait

To bind and tie an Angels wings
—the Devil at the gate

The Somber Reminiscence

Woe received from feelings passed
Of memories thought asleep at last
They haunt the ever wakened state
And for the dreams, they lie in wait

‘Tis but a word that can stir
The clearer image from a blur
To a full blown reality of a thought
That was once what love had brought.

Same Old - Same Old

Judging opinions
by their age
proscriptions
lie in wait

Consensus stained
with fear and guilt
folly
overstates

Knowledge of others
unknown to self
deception points
one way

Value weighed
in layers of dust
the truth held
—far at bay

The Garden of My Mind

My thoughts exude a sweet perfume
And buds await their chance to bloom.
But down below there lie in wait
Deep weeds which seek to suffocate.

A Modern Major General

Don't be so directionless.
Follow your bliss.
The monuments of time will always lie in wait.
You are your soul's God.
Deliver yourself from the baggage of other's judgement.
Consider yourself agreeable.
Begin the day with the first good thought.
Doing so, you'll be my model
Of a modern major general.

The Moon

The moon rises from her slumber
With her she brings her children of the night
The moon awakens the wolves for their hunt
The owls screech from a distance
Bats fly high in the skies
Foxes scout the land for their latest stunt
Mice scamper by trying to live in coexistence
Spiders lie in wait of flies
The moon awakens a brilliant danger

Out of the Depths

~No looting today,hurray~
We lie in wait, till the bad man is re-elected!
                     And then, oh then!
To punish this great nation, we will burn it to degradation
   And kill good citizens and the Police, too.
    Law and order, are simply not our way.
               ~Anarchy, rules our day~

Life

Life Bt: Tom Wright 2000 Lord, I find that life, with all It's daily unseen snares, is analogous to snow boarding haphazardly down a pine covered incline. My skill and adroitness are never adequate for these obstacles that lie in wait. It is only through my faith in Jesus, whose tracks I'll follow, that I have hope of reaching the desired finish.

Caught Inside the Eye

Nature—Lord of everything
its blizzards and its droughts

Talking back to a hurricane,
you whisper as it shouts

Your treasured possessions lie in wait
for floods to take away

That rumble heard beneath your feet
to swallow as you pray

Those things you grow and seeds you plant,
the locust comes to claim

As tidal waves begin to form
—you powerless to blame

Mayfly

MAYFLY

Just a day is all he is given
No surprise  wings so driven!
Dragonfly, trout lie in wait
In turn the Angler casts his bait.

Never even time to eat
His existence is so very fleet,
Pass his genes, all else forsaking,
Millions of  years in the making.

Duty done and time to die,
The river slowly drifts on by,
He floats among a countless horde,
Sleep well my friend, your line assured.

Whisper of Your Dream

In the night I come alive
I listen for the whisper of your dream
I let the night take my pride and give to you the pleasure inside
I lie in wait of your dream that holds me still inside your gait
your hands on my hips to glide you in for you to take what lies within
the beast awakes the treasure you find that makes me moan and divide entwined
I long for your dream to come and take what lies beneath this hum

PTSD

Here I lie in wait,
for the enemy at the gate,
it's not like they haven't been here before,
carrying their AK74,
Isis or cartel they're all bad,
what they've done haunts me till I'm sad,
every shadow's move catches my eye,
this may be the night my enemies die,
even at night my pistol sights glow,
it becomes so quiet I hear my blood flow,
nobody ever does come to my door,
but the voice in my head says I must wait even more.

Yes, No, or later

Yes, No, or later Miracle man 10/21/2024 God, Oft times in prayer I’ve aired my wants to thee, and many times You’ve became my arbitrator. Because You saw a future that I couldn’t see, Your answer wasn’t yes or no, but perhaps later. I know not what might lie in wait ahead, and things I want are not always best for me. God’s voice to me I must always firmly imbed, so that in prayer He will always hear my plea.

My Blood Undenied

My blood undenied;
Though a red lip;
Yet a significant figure;
We are oceans apart;
Waiting to confluence;
This caused by sources religious
view apart;
Which I hear will later confluence;
No response lie in wait;
When all the wishes of the sources;
Arrive at their door step when they
least expect it;
This you tell me in silence;
that the blood undenied will find it's
blood;
I trust you;
The blood of my blood that must
blood;
....My blood undenied

75 Words

75 Words

Close by relation and
Distant by miles
Distance, dissonance descending
Deeper delivering doubt that
Seeps like a teabag you steep
Is the mountain as you stumble
Dirt crumbles under your feet
Is the measurement of
How far you fall when
You won’t see the hand waiting
To catch you because
Hidden truth is the same color
As a lie in wait
For words spoken
In a voice you have yet to create
Time for
Change.

To Heal a Heart

My words would so much hurt you,
I had never imagined,
I didn't really mean to be harsh,
Sorry my child, you probably misconstrued!

I always lie in wait for the weekends,
To see you, and every moment be with you,
And the week days go quickly again in recall,
The sweet memories of our chats whatever !

Rest assure nothing has changed dear,
From your subtler days to current adulthood,
Same me, same you, everything the same,
Emotions have gone more intense however !!
