Heading for the rodeo.

Her glasses on
The tip of her nose
And her hair curled in a bun.

She finally took a seat,
Barely taking the heat.

But in the mix 
Of all these things	
She was called out to the ring.

She climbed up on
The electronic bull
Hoping she could bare
Gravities great pull.

The bull tossed her,
And slung her to the dirt.
And forced the librarian
Back to her books....

the puppy arrived at gnome village on his own
he had no briefcase, suitcase, name tag or phone
What do we do with him? Grandpa gnome ask his niece.
We had better play with him, let’s take an hour apiece.

So the villagers took turns playing with the puppy all day.
He was exhausted, but happy, when he went along his way.
That is what you do with puppies, I read it in a book.
The puppy gave the librarian a wave and a fond, sleepy look....

They were hunters and trappers.
They look unassuming and innocent.
Their ways are wily, their traps are sneaky.
This librarian is one of those. The men do not know yet.
They are checking out books like mad.
Pretending they know how to read. 
I am the older librarian now. I sit back and smile.
Remembering when the young lads discovered me....

Was it left here by the last borrower?
Or has she - or he -
found it, known it was from
the previous borrower, and ignored it?

How long could eyelash
or nasal hair
remain here on page sixty-five
almost defying its removal?

Or will a librarian happen across this souvenir,
blow it away
before returning the book
to its place on the shelf?
