Vegetarian
There was a young librarian
Who's strictly vegetarian
For her wheat and Kale makes a meal complete
while her beau needs meat to eat
Says she; now that's just barbarian...

our new librarian has such a fantastical sense of books.

A school librarian demanding quiet
Has her loud kids on a rum cake diet
With the wild ones sedated
She's at peace and elated
Now all teachers are eager to try it.

I met the rudest librarian.
"I'd like a library card, "I said to him.
"You have to prove, "he said annoyed, "that you're a New York City resident."
I said, "No problem,"
then I stabbed him....

Premium Member Choosing My Library Books
So many choices; I feel gleeful.
I pull seven books out and start to read
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes,
My mother reminds me seven is the limit.
The old lady librarian winks at me.
She knows I will be back tomorrow
For my next seven.
as usual....

Hedgehog librarian had a following of sixty-seven hundred strong.
She loved teaching library skills, she had been at it hard and long.
How old do you think she is? Someone asked, politically wrong.
No idea, but she tells a wild story about pirates, witches and King Kong....

Pretence
Prudence rode her neon lime green bike down to the corner
Right up to the library
Entrance, she wore her bleach blond hair spiky short
Talking too loudly and popping her Bazooka Joe
Every time the librarian glared at her
Next to the magazine rack she
Covertly studied the science section hoping no one noticed her focused
Eyes...

Danish Married To a Scottish
The Woman is A Danish
And married to A Scottish
But often heard in English:
Language she speaks with relish…

But the Rather Stand-Offish:
At times slippery like Fish
Or like things one wouldn’t wish,
For example Leaf-Filled Dish
To be served Vegetarian
Or Flesh to a Barbarian…

A Thief-Catching Librarian
And Confirmed True Lutheran!...

Librarian
Liberator from confinement and control
Inspiration to grow wings and fly to worlds unknown
Bright star which we aspire to be
Rich source of knowledge
Astonishing others causing immitation
Refreshing part of the day
Important part of every life
Amazing traveler of dimensions
Never leaving my memory or my heart no matter to which world I travel...

See Dick run, in the golden latterly years,
When past is gone, the future premieres.
Jane is a librarian, in the floral ruby days,
Sally is a teacher, in the tangerine phase.

Puff pursues orange butterflies in heaven,
And he and Spot frolic, in sunshine lemon.
Mother and Father reside in assisted living,
Where the blue jay to the moon is singing....

Super sleuth detective ghost cat kept her ideas to herself.
Her sidekick, ghostly ghost’s eyes wandered down every shelf.
The library’s moss tree was snoring as loudly as any buzz saw.
Ghost walkers rolled their eyes, whispering lah dee dah.
The librarian was on vacation, so the fey were bound to play.
Enjoying mysterious moments before she returned on Tuesday....

Greatful Heart and Now
i find in the library
my favorite books
by someone's donation
over a month
I got it for free and have been read it
"thanks"
"A cup of coffee?"
I want to say just one word
I want to ask the librarian
I guess they don't know
so searching for the name
online
she did a lot of things
now last month
through our village funeral home
She left this world
alone....

Drumstick and Thigh
Young Tim goes to Zaire
to write his dissertation
in African Studies.

While there he meets and
marries a beautiful librarian
darker than he is, flies her

home to meet the family.
Tim's father asks his mother
if she knew about Margot.

Mother says she didn’t
but she’s not surprised.
On Thanksgiving Day

Tim likes the dark meat,
the biggest and meatiest
drumstick and thigh.

The Librarian
The librarian walked a dusty road.
Heading for the rodeo.

Her glasses on
The tip of her nose
And her hair curled in a bun.

She finally took a seat,
Barely taking the heat.

But in the mix
Of all these things
She was called out to the ring.

She climbed up on
The electronic bull
Hoping she could bare
Gravities great pull.

The bull tossed her,
And slung her to the dirt.
And forced the librarian
Back to her books....

Premium Member Men Fear Lady Librarians
Remember the move, The Music Man?
How our hero was terrified of librarians.
He said they wanted marriage.
They were hunters and trappers.
They look unassuming and innocent.
Their ways are wily, their traps are sneaky.
This librarian is one of those. The men do not know yet.
They are checking out books like mad.
Pretending they know how to read.
I am the older librarian now. I sit back and smile.
Remembering when the young lads discovered me....

Such a Delicate Hair
A hair about a centimetre long!
Was it an eyelash
or a tiny piece of nasal ornamentation
in this library book?

Was it left here by the last borrower?
Or has she - or he -
found it, known it was from
the previous borrower, and ignored it?

How long could eyelash
or nasal hair
remain here on page sixty-five
almost defying its removal?

Or will a librarian happen across this souvenir,
blow it away
before returning the book
to its place on the shelf?

Premium Member Eye
an in-sight drove me
here where the entry code 'eye'
opened a word lock

so timely fashion
is responsible for words
on 'invisibles'

our subconscious 'scans'
it is just information
our library

and we are the 'eyes'
an only librarian
that seeks references

in experience
of clues we focus upon
and weave stories from

to create movie
science and pulp fiction themes
that rattle the mind

the more we focus
on hollywood plot and script
we are blind to scan
