Depression

Multi-leveled beauty
Of motion and of mind
Unbridled, raw emotion –
The music and the rhyme.

A haunting melody
And harmony belong
Within the lonely rhythm
And sorrow of my song.

Lust Is a Broken Engine

Lust is a broken engine,
operating with aviation fuel.
It flies victim up in the skies,
and lands not in airport,
not even in airstrip,
but in the leveled gardens,
of someone’s heart.

Premium Member Tsunami

Tsunami

People watching
Small waves rolling,
Sea birds chatter
Seeking shelter,
Tsunami approaching
Island sanctuary.

People fleeing
Water smashing,
Buildings leveled
Trees uprooted,
Bodies floating
Out to sea.

Tsunami!
Survivors
Counting
Blessings.

The Deer

The Deer

Walking through the woods
Silently across the snow
Leaving a row of tracks
The man hides in a tree
Looking down into the forest
His eyes catch a faint motion
Down below a deer looks up
Their eyes meet for a second
A gun is leveled
A trigger is pulled
A bullet flies into the air
No more deer

A hawk flew high, soaring...
a breathtaking dive and dip
(Watched I with jealous
eye). Came a great aerial flip,
leveled to precision glide --
my wing-full heart sighed:
Oh, to have wings!

Short time later, I was indoors,
at the dinner table. It was Thanksgiving~
Oh~ God, thank you for wings!

Premium Member I'M a Brick House-

I am a brick house

I'm a brick house
Could be a shapely woman or a house
Leveled in courses stacked one on top of each other
A dwelling consisting of mortar, wood, and rock
A residential dwelling space
Made to inhabit man and his family
I am a brick house

The Horizon

The Horizon

Sunset upon the horizon
The separation
The divide
The leveled eye’s perspective
Of degree
Of magnitude
Of scope, of range, of reach
A continuous,smooth parallel plane
A flaming red sphere
Melts into the  sky
Sinking deep into the never ending line
Of the sea

Visitations Yellows upped, humble shanty forms beyond verdant meadows. Animals resounding, quivering grounds, championed zephyrs penetrate leveled jealousies. I knocked, the whitish doorway opened, neighborly xenial exchanges. *Free Verse/Abecedarian 2021 October 17

Defeat, My Defeat - From Masters

I
Think - but don't make THINKING "your aim" -
"Don't look too good ... or lose common touch"
I learned from past masters, one name
Is Kipling. Khalil Gibran. Thanks. Much!

II
He called defeat his "bold companion,"
To be understood "is to be leveled," without
"Defeat, My Defeat," he owned loss & gain;
Life & death. Prepared to dig graves within

Premium Member Nourishment Of Wild

Nourishment of wild,
we forgot where we came from;
It may be too late;

Destroying the sea,
wiping out the whole forest;
No regard for home;

Parasites feeding,
mono crops poaching the land;
Rich soil won’t come back;

Humanity’s ills
leveled with nature’s fury;
Violent minute storm;

It’s over in an instant;
The faithless now filled with hope.

Reflexivity

The chores withheld and catered for,
un-tethered from your noose,
do you run and skip ahead?

A measured routine had quelled what you once knew,
what tomorrow's plans, sketched yesterday, lay down.

The very process to succeed,
your ambitious coded program
has crept grown and leveled dominance.

And now who works for who?
The decades pass and drag each moment.

Premium Member Symbiotic Nature

Wildly fertile soil;
Soft petals and wise old oaks,
some consume insects;

Oxygen filled air;
Many who can’t long to fly
to change perspective;

Storms, wildfires, earthquakes
we feel leveled when she yells;
Mother may I live?

These rushing currents;
Home to scores of marine life,
full of square rip tides;

Replenishing the famine,
it’s symbiotic nature

Premium Member Information Math

St. John gave its pupils arithmetic
I glided through these
Like breeze of Belize

Los Angeles City College leveled me
Algebra had me on my knees

YET

I clamored to Cal. State, Long Beach,
Where Information Science sacked me

I fought back on campus lush lawns
Lingered crossed-leg in summer sun

WON

My grade was not an F
I graduated and felt blessed.

Stone Concrete

Chasing tail; A dream,
Hides secrecy; A love,
Open door; locked tight,
Only you and I can go.
An amazing feel gives me,
Roller*Coaster chills; ice-cube,
To the bone.
This promised experiance never
To come down, as we carry these
Hearts leveled sight, where we've
Bonded friendship in stone; concrete,
Forever n' always, as we imprint the
World in coulor; R N' C wile rule the
riverbed suite in love.

Premium Member Optimism of Goddess Diana

The only game to be found was one tiny runt
Goddess Diana was sent by the gods to help with the hunt
The forest was amazed at her animal power
She unleashed cumulus clouds who brought down a shower
During the storm beasts came tr to the meadow
Many fabulous specimens were leveled by bow
Can you come again soon? Asked a hunter named Todd.
I think you can do it yourself, Diana said. Thinking his request odd.

Premium Member Fighting on the lord’s side

I am fighting on the lord’s side
I am victorious on all sides
Enemies take heed and flee from all sides
Cause the Mighty man in battle
Cannot lose or be rattled
He is with me always
I am thus a stranger to defeat
At the mention of His mighty name
Every adversary must surrender
Every mountain must be leveled
At the battle of Calvary
He  conquered death mightily
And made me more than a conqueror

Premium Member Knowing

Somethings need no explanation
You see a word
You know it's spelt wrong
A letter out of place
You just know it

You may know nothing about music
Until a wrong chord is struck
One bad note
And no one has to tell you
You just know it

I came to know you
Beyond the person people see
There was nothing out of place
No wrong chord in my heart
The perfect imperfections
A true mountain leveled to a molehill
There were no words to explain
I just knew it

Reverie In Open Air

I acknowledge my status as a stranger inappropriate clothes old habits out of sync with wasp
and wren i admit i dont know how to sit still or move with purpose i prefer books to moonlight
statuary to trees but this lawn has been leveled for looking so i kick off my sandal's and walk
it's cool green who claims were mere muscle and fluids? my feet are the primitives here as
for the rest ah the air now is a tonic of absence, bearing nothing but news of a breeze.

Missing Hope

The delicate of words that fallow
That gives no sorrow
Claiming many of the feelings
It is gone without dealings
Shock in many occasions
With outbound decisions
Leaving without explanation
That life has a destination
Lost in the clouds
Into the outstanding crowds
Lesson to be learned
But found that you have been burned
Shocked to be afraid
And no one to give you aid
Deep in many thoughts
Comes words that shocks
Leveled out beliefs
And just one word deceives

Premium Member Stephen, Full of Grace

And Stephen, full of grace, performed great signs;
The Freedmen rose, disputed what he said.
Unable to withstand, they soon resigned;
They leveled claims of blasphemy instead.
They stirred up folks; the news, like wildfire, spread.

’Twas seized, brought ‘fore the council ‘gainst his will
Where witnesses bore testimony ill,
“Says Jesus will destroy this holy place,
Seeks to reverse what Moses has instilled!”
But Stephen bore a calm, angelic face.
