The Numbers Fail
In Newtonian Mechanics,
the future is the past

What lags behind, what sits ahead,
the Jester only laughs

A one for one relation,
its truth in bas-relief

The numbers hail, the numbers fail
—empirical deceit

Where Did You Go
The day is dull and gloomy
and my spirit lags like gray tuft clouds
I thought your words might cheer me
and on poetry soup I looked
for just a word or two or more
to brighten the day and my soul,
but sadly, the words weren't apparent there
  where did you go?...

Winter Woes
The winter days drag and drag
the frown on my face increasingly sags
turning me into a haggard old hag
my husband continues to nag and nag
he's tired of living in ratted old rags
time is frozen and forever lags
this season is one big snag after snag

Premium Member Reflections
We have been bestowed with a mind to discern,
which implies we have some measure of free will,
so life choices we make, is the way we learn
but if heart lags behind, we suffer until
the lamp of love is lit in mind-body urn,
whence we may drink soma nectar to our fill.
We would do well to pause and ask who we are
since from path of truth, we have drifted afar....

Stop Waiting For Another Mandela
The whole truth has be illuminated by history
Without learning from the past there’s no victory
We don’t need another 27 years on Robben Island
We don’t need fingerprints of foreign hands
Enough blood has been stained on our flags
When Africa advances wars and fighting, Africa lags
Stop waiting for another Mandela and Sankara
When you have the whole truth and all the answers...

Played With
Their playing with their clocks again
Their playing with their flags
Their saying your mortality
has no more time than lags

Their offering up your screen savers
and offering up your lives
Their praying for your wallpaper
in all the time that thrives

They'll send you little icons
They'll send you your emoji's
You'll wonder if you're still ideal
and not just one more boggie...

Remember My Mercy
It’s all out there and in here too.
The pain, confusion, and anxiety.
What is a person to do,
who lags in the virtue of piety.

It must be given to One
much more powerful than I,
And so I have done,
But not quite, so that’s a lie…

I take back what I have given,
And suffer it all over again,
Though I’ve been forgiven,
Such is the haunting of sin.

How could I have ever done these things;
Is what the too proud conscience sings....

The Derogatory Diner
There was a chef named Luke,
All of his entrees were nuked.
In every dinner he planned,
All of his food was canned,
And most of his patrons puked.

Now many patrons inquired,
Why this chef was never fired,
But his boss was anemic,
and very bulimic,
Which is why Luke was hired.

This Diner's reputation lags,
But the owner always brags,
That his dining auditorium,
is a modern vomitorium
With no need for doggie bags....

Elf Bag's?
Before I begin my muse
Tell me how could you use
The love I always choose
Want me to blow my fuse?

Beauty from my hidden bag
My magic wand loves to tag
Dazes me to walk always lags
Let these humans..? what fags.

Hold still as I slide on your back
In smoothness as perfume track
Breezy, trusses skating as a sack
Blundering fools I hate to smack

Wonder a while you thieving packs
I am that great living elf don’t whack....

Wise words will wealth
Hope heeds high health

Zest zooms zigzag
Live laughter lags

Prize poignant peace
Etch employs ease

Feel fumbling fear
Dance deeper dear

Meet mindful moans
Glimpse glitzy groans

Breeze buoyant blaze
Sight sensuous space

Apt answers ask
Try telling task

Zigzag zooms zest
Fee feisty fest

Dream dazzles dear
Craft curious cheer

Reunion At Lowell Ponds
Saw family of four
again here this morning
took a closer look with
my spy glass,

there's really five of
these enchanting living things
only four young ones,
mama makes five though.

Developing so rapidly and
swimming so fine. As
the rest follow mama so close
one always lags behind.

Little legs pushes so well,
to catch up with rest,
of family so together
much to learn, before
mama lets them go.

Before the Second Week
Before the second week it lags far

the three steps that will nurture of our secrets

In addition

just you, me and God to know

I saw briefly

cheeks red as thy Syzygium samarangense

in the rainy season

ah, I remember that, my love

If the Moment Repeats
If you want to accomplish something,
  stop talking

If you want to get somewhere,
  start walking

If you want to be someone,
  stop wishing

If you find your table bare,
  start fishing

If the door remains barred and closed,
  knock again

If the meaning lags behind intent,
  yourself befriend

If the sentences won’t start or end,
  reopen your heart

If the moment repeats again the same,
  with love—restart

Miss-Represented
She is a woman
Cool, calm and collected
If placidly she tugs and lags
Like a sheep behind a successful shepherd

She is a woman
Sweet, simple and soft
If she has voice, low and faint
Like a maid in the midst of masters

She is a woman
Booby, bumpy and beautiful
If she lays the bed and her body
Like a mother cow in the hands of milkmaid

She is a woman
Educated, enlightened and enthroned
If it’s all practiced adroitly in the kitchen
Like an eagle flying in a beautiful cage....
