another deep breath
    of suffocating air
passes the lump in my throat...
            I offer a Kleenex
                   to the woman beside me...

Achoo
A sneeze signals trouble,
all hell is breaking loose,
another one seems loud,
annoying it must be,
Anna hands me Kleenex
as more body shocks come...
Achoo! Achoo!! Achoo!!!...

Kleenex
kleenex
in a hurricane
my life was

pristine
and carefree
moments before
the storm hit my shores

fleeting
but well spent
every moment was

yet destined
to serve others
with needs
greater than my own...

Premium Member Naughty Girl
There was a naughty girl
And a naughty girl was she
For nothing would she do
Since the age of two
But pick her nose
She picked it here
And there
For allergy did bare
But now
She knows
To fare
Kleenex
Near every chair...

Mrs. Generosity gives me Kleenex, but that’s not good enough.
She offers me pencils, markers, stickers and other school stuff.
Some people do not know her as well as I do. Too bad for them.
She is a friend to me, a cousin, a delight, a wonder and a gem....

Ah, she waltzes so madly, in the magic of this Spring.
Smelling the flowers, forgetting Pollen, which for her,
a nemesis  which ruins everything!

Surrounded by mountains of  Kleenex in each room.
Rita, the crimson-nosed, poetess, wishes Spring, a fond
Shalom and a joyous Adieu!

Head cold
Gets old

Night rough
Nose stuffed

Wake up
Ache up

Eyes fried
Eyes pried

Somewhat
Glued shut

Nose snot
A lot

Annex
Kleenex

Rough cough
Head off

Bad hack
Attack

Slow scene
Feel mean

Suspect
Day wrecked

Not well
What smell?

Detect
Inspect

Take heart
Jumpstart

God’s bean:
Caffeine!...

My pooch has funky tastes
To sniff out bizarre caviar of freshly milled
Tissue paste

Pounce like cougars
Not for meat treats, but Kleenex filled
Boogers

He's got
A nose for skilled
Snot

My pooch has funky tastes
Not for meat treats, but Kleenex filled
Snot

That One Friend
That one person,
That makes you think twice,
Any decisions you make,
You expect to hear there advice,

The wrong you do together,
The right moments to,
Being their after heart breaks,
And holding the kleenex still,

Your tears they catch,
As you do the same,
A close friend,
You know who you are,

A close friendship,
I'll never throw away........

The Drawer of a Decent Soul
One bag of honesty to myself and others at all times
Tape to fix other peoples wounds and keep them together
One box of kleenex to wipe their tears completely away
Paper to write down what needs to be done to help others
One pen to scribble down words they think were not heard
One pack of batteries for energy to always be their for them
One flashlight to guide others if they get lost in the dark...

Premium Member Why Did I Wear This Short Shirt
deadly college campus at night
only thing moving are leaves
pick up pace, skirt brushing my legs
feeling highly vulnerable
drop a Kleenex but keep walking
of course hypervigilant now
have they caught the rapist yet?
why on earth did I wear a short skirt?

kind of night you expect to be murdered
ebony shadows make my spinal column shiver
heard a footstep, dared not look behind me
sure I will momentarily be killed...

Rental
I wish I had the video
of all your mental pictures
so I could see what that night
looked like, where he
touched you and why
you let him in…
I want to watch the whole
damn thing, shades drawn,
sitting on the couch
with only a box of Kleenex –
I heard the ending
is a real tear-jerker.

Knowing me, I’d watch it
over and over
and pause
at the
exact
moment
you said yes,
trying to read
the eyes that now
tell
me
nothing....
