In Kabul
Tonight in Kabul
there will be terror or death.
All other choices
flew away yesterday
on a plane crowded
with last hopes....

Wandering Turk
A Turk living in old Istanbul
Drank raki until he was full,
He tried riding home on his donkey
But his steering was wonky ,
He somehow ended up in Kabul....

Kabul Threnody
Bent wire horizon,
the day is a broken perimeter.
There is light
between the barbs
but you have to squint,
pretend the fence still holds.
People flee,
their knees are bruised
by each narrowing dawn.
The fool on the hill
blames the sun
in his eyes....

Wasted - Another Tragedy

Afghanistan
I feel like Afghanistan
All the friends who helped me through my depression
Have left
I want to leave this body I call home
Rather than wage war with my demons
Strong and mighty
Smiling is equivalent to holding a plane at Kabul.
I fly for a minute
And drop back down into the abyss
Depression you restrict me like the Afghan woman now.
But I will learn to love my body
And I will find my home some day...

Premium Member Kabul
faint hues arose from a distance
as i follied beyond the grave gestures
of a calming mirage

faintly showers began
to sprinkle over the seasonal earth
thee past time frawned above it all
shattering sound near a mustered seed patch

coarse branches crawled over soiled nest
tampering with the birds homeland
twigs fell to the ground draw string hung
cracked eggs settled underneath the oak
just in time for a foxes lunch...

Sad Love Words
Vestiges of the scent of love still linger,
mixing in with my memories of the smell of your perfume.
Those sad love words for so long in me lived without meaning,
once empty, they now lay heavy in chords of melodic pain.
Flowing in and out through the air now faint as a shadow’s whisper,
leaving me consumed and alone, and still bearing my lost heart.

Premium Member The Last Flight Out
The Last Flight Out Written: by Miracle Man September 2, 2021 Aircraft disappeared into the Kabul sky, minutes later Taliban flooded the street. They painted themselves to be the good guy, firing into the air celebrating our retreat. This last flight ended the U.S.A.’s longest war, now anguish exists for those left behind. But our way of exit was not top drawer, left to die were some who were with us aligned.

Words evade the inspiration of my muse
My heart is too heavy, watching this atrocity
Many people report that it will only get worse
Servicemen killed with many people injured
Photos of bloodied bodies at Kabul Airport
This never should have happened, ever!
America on the run, from a departure, no plan
They would still like to tell us everything will be fine!
I remember weeks ago when Biden insisted…
The Taliban would never take over the country!
