Premium Member Verse On, Gershon

To arms, to wit, with repartee!
The barbs and jabs in fun and play
We never fear et tu, Brute,
for Gershon's verse makes bright the day!

Crabs

I went to the doctor with crabs
He gave me 380 jabs
To preserve your manly
Stay away from the fanny
Or your bits will be nothing but scabs

Punching Weight

A Carolina Wren jabs and weaves hopping in and out of a ring of sunlight, it has pugnacity, but the cat creeping near does not care.

Premium Member As the Strings Sweetly Sing

Thrill to the frenzy, the passion
  slender bow jabs the air
fingers race along submissive neck
  face dances to the love
  of the precious instrument

Premium Member Tattoo Man-Odd Facts 002

A lot ado
over head to toe tattoo.
The Great Omi
Sensitive as a zombie
endured 15 million needle stabs
to get his fill of verbal jabs.

Premium Member Jester

Jaunty little fellow,
Joker for kings and queens.
Jolly bells on hat, shoes,
Jingle with his movements:
Jumping, dancing, bowing.
Jabs fun at all he can,
Jovial trickster man.

Wren

A Carolina Wren
bobs and weaves
inside a ring of sunlight.

It is shadow boxing,
but there are no shadows

yet it still jabs and moves.

A boxer
fights the shadow of himself.

Nagging pain invades my eye; the aura lasts for weeks. Stabbing, searing hot poker jabs into my brain; branding my eye. Migraine owns me now; there are no drugs to relieve my agony.

I Don'T Bother With Flu Jabs

Its flu jab season again
But I always give them a pass
I self medicate with alcohol
It really is first class
So just say to the doc
When he starts to tut
That a shot in your glass
Is better than one in the butt

Premium Member Joking

Jollity lifts spirits.
		Joshing’s great. Let’s hear it!
		Jocose friends who, with wit,
jazz things up are a hit!
		Jabs can be unnerving;
		jibes can be self-serving.
		Jesting must be gentle.

Comedy Club

Jeer, farcical cheer
Jive, cheer to sneer
Jest, barb to test
Pun, jest for fun
Joke, fun to poke
Jab, poke to grab
Joust, jabs that roust
Jibe, taunting vibe
Josh, vibe to squash
Jolt, tingling volt
Jaunt, volting flaunt

Vicious Game

Out the door
is a vicious game
a process

battle of spite
tug of war
circus of irritation

where nobody loses
no one wins
a bloody senseless draw

no referee
only stiff jabs
right crosses

haymakers
countered by blow
after blow

low...

Woodpecker

Machete jabs cycle through a staccato lied. The music is Jurassic, a tune rattled in the throat of a feathered lizard. It pecks out the genetic code of jackhammers. Stabs eardrums deep, a primal stirring of blood and sap. The forest echoes as time hammers on.

Fire Within Speaks

Fire talks to the dark:
Tells it of light—
While touching up covered walls;
Scattering the core lies,

Let it all burn.
In its pitch, open fingers grasp
For passion. Heated jabs ignite
A flame— leaving behind the pain.

Embers swell to be only used—
(Warming you)
Then fade— out of the maker's
Hoarse end.

Rosy No 3

There's no green shoots
to our romance
she liked Numan
I liked Howe
I feel alone now
when she planned to
leave the sit so aptly
All she had our meeting down to
was a chat
when I gave my best
of poetry and photography
and music
You were not as deep
as you made out
despite being a coordinator for Covid jabs

Lone

Sitting on the park bench
The boy watches geese
Ever so carefully
As though he wants
To be one of them.
Is one of them
At least for the moment.
They swim across the pond
Happily.
Not a care in the world
And with friends.
The boy turns away.
Starts crying
Uncontrollably.
The wind jabs me in my gut.
I admit.
I am still that boy.

Wobbie Tuck

Errant steals,

like globular e-mocking,

stark Jabs in test,

wave's of sustainment globally casting flesh aside,

wantoness stops as
tubular horns row them all away...

Nickled as jells in the jangles,

wobbie in a talk in a mangle-

flippin' at it's angle',

crunch crockie crangle,

the bottle on a walk,

like a Laker in a stock.

Backend of March

Bird-song returns from the lingering dead. A Carolina Wren jabs and hops inside a miniscule ring of pale sunlight. In the back of a cold season the wind dresses a scarecrow with spiny feathers. Ice scabs scratch sod and mulch. One inaugural leaf invites a green legend but it will be weeks before chill cavities fill to blood heat.

Final Breath

never followed a course
my life could have been worse

received sarcastic jabs
and rode plenty of cabs

called many names
and played some games

when all is said and done
and my life's almost gone

judge my actions
no distractions

my heart was always pure
though my faith wasn't sure

evil and good
my neighborhood

What's waiting after death?
I won't fear final breath

Premium Member Wait For It

by Dawne Zacharias

When we think all is lost
you've done everything to thwart the jabs of hopelessness

Suicide appears,
Answers are never found on this level

Get out! Right now, and away from it, raise your sights
And when you do, ask God if it is really you
the darkness will dispell, His joy will surround
a brightness of hope will be found.
One step then another, we are going on this
journey together.
