Thanks, Linda. With Pleiades not being my ‘go to’ form (by a Mile!), I’m pretty chuffed with this result .

Problem is, Deb. Im still armpit deep in Rum n Raisin adventures and I’m itching to create a ‘life’ for Englebert von Spindlelegs (why oh why THAT name… rhyming that is gonna do my head in) ;-)

Thank you, Joanna. I’ve only ever done three of these. One was too many syllables, one was too late, and one was this one. So I’m well pleased.

I can just hear our Australian friends protesting that I couldn’t write about Emus without bringing ostriches into the mix. Ha ha! Hmmm…. Your comment is compelling me to write about an Emu called Gregory… peck peck peck!

Thank you Sara. As only my third attempt ever (but all in one day) I’m most pleased with your words ‘perfect pleiades’… almost as chuffed as I am that I can now spell it without looking it up!

Nailed it, Terry. How about 'Electric Cow,' aka E-Moo?!

Or Smart chewing gum for Yorkshire sheep… E bah gum! I have no idea if that will work outside of Blighty, but it is funny… really it is…. no really… honest

Bad enough you guys have contest about Autumn when any dill know its Spring, but now you pinch our birds for your contest and dare to do a better job at the Pleiades than I did ! We guys are the ones that have Emus playing chicken with cars in the outback, You guys have lions strolling down the street don't you? Well any way you did well with OUR birds, but you didn't mention that they eat large pebble to help digest their food ! All the best mate, BOL SV

I shall consider myself severely reprimanded. Is your hearing aid battery okay? When someone told you we have lions in our streets… I think they might have said ‘Lines’. Of course eating pebbles is nothing; we Brits eat crushed concrete cos we’re real tough guys… I may pen an ode about it ;-)

Emu running wild. I think I’ll choose a different word. You and Jan have this one wrapped up.

Ahhh… there’s always more to be said, Lin. You choose your word and go for it.. but if you knock me into an honorary mention… I’ll never talk to you again… Ha ha ;-)

You and me both, Jan. But I was pretty confident that Rod Hull would never get that demon bird through customs… their loss! So our American friends would just say, “Rod who?”. Glad you enjoyed; I’ll check your Emu out… now that’s something you don’t hear everyday ;-)

I reckon I could ‘dig’ a pet one, Tom. Imagine walking in to a bar with an Emu…. Do I sense a poem coming on?
