Inscrutable Prank
A cherub child,
Akin to a flower bud,
Is born crippled,
An inscrutable prank of God!...

he's all concentration

The Arian
A gallant ram stands vibrant here
Ready its learning and passion to bare
Inscrutable as the late march air
Emotive to a sufferer's tear
Sensible to the load of friendhsip he bear....

Lawfully Incorrect
the earth is a gossamer old beauty--
;inscrutable; the whole of humanity immobile
paralyzed from sedulous faith; erased.
it's the beast's propensity-- destruction of
capability; silence repudiates language lyrics,
deems sense; contraband....

Sphinx
           inscrutable, mysterious
  perplexing, mystifying, awe-inspiring
   statue, ancient, pharaoh, limestone
       striking, stunning, bewildering
               mythical, enigmatic

Premium Member Valentine O' Mine
Those entrancing eyes

   Gaze longingly into mine

      What is her desire

         Softly purring in my ear

            (Inscrutable cat o' mine!)

Premium Member She Wast As Inscrutable As the Sphinx
The lady doth protest too much, methinks.

(She with face inscrutable as the Sphinx.)

      Although she was nay forthright,

         Shakespeare wast somewhat polite,

But saw through her nefarious high jinks!

Premium Member Why Me
One of the questions
  after the Holocaust
was and is "Why Me?"
Why did they die and I live?

There is no answer
  to this question
God's ways are inscrutable
  His plan unknowable

Yet there's this --
  I live to dedicate myself
to preserve the memories
  of those I knew
who could not ask the question...

The Inscrutable Heart
I am a child in
heart,
Not understanding
why we cannot say
these things;
Let free this sigh
of gracious hope,
across forever
skies.

It is only in heart
that I know
my God does let me
love,
as I can,
and I will.

No matter course,
or action,
or outcome;
I do not grieve this
forsaken spot,
where even angels
fear to go

Condemned
Curse the poets with oblivion.
They haven’t changed a thing.
There still is war and pestilential greed
In spite of how they sing.

Damn the poets to perdition.
They haven’t fathomed Fate.
The grave is still inscrutable, yet near—
No poet makes death wait.

Banish poets to cruelest torture.
They deserve the rack
For promising your heart to me
When rhymes won’t woo you back....

Premium Member Cat Hair
Hair! Hair! Here, there and everywhere!

Its on my lap, on the bed and my favorite chair!

I've even found it on the comb when I arrange my hair!

But, my inscrutable cat, ol' Jeff, doesn't seem to care!

Even though the house with gobs of hair is riven,

When he purrs and cuddles with me all is forgiven!

Hair! Hair! Here, there and everywhere,

But Jeff is my loyal buddy and I don't care!...

Begun Well
She was scared at first,
And made it apparent,
It was her first day on concrete slab,
She was about couple of feel high,
As yet she hesitated before the dive,
I coaxed her to edge,
And made her plunge,
There was a loud splash of water,
And she was almost done,
Huffing and puffing she came out,
Swam to the edge,
As she climbed up,
Her face had lit up,
In inscrutable smile,
She had begun,
And begun real well....

Incomprehensible Existential Conundrum Confronts Mine Consciousness Part Ii

Seismic Prophecy
If ever Everafter seems
Inscrutable to you,
Remember, visionary dreams
At times come all too true.

The city by the bay will fall,
It’s Golden Gate to lie
Submerged, with skyscrapers once tall—
Metropolis must die!

The angel-city farther down
The shifting shore will be
Another, underwater town,
Punished presently.

So heed the bardic omens no
Mere scientist dare read—
Pacific coastal millions will go
Help the fishes feed…...

Premium Member Abstract Lady
Abstract mystery lady, on the burgundy museum wall,
Eyes in deep shadows, in her green dress at the ball,
Sitting lost in thought, of what no one will ever know,
As the moonlight mingles with her hair at the window.

Abstract stylish lady, her face a vague blend of colors,
No longer with the crowd, now apart from the others,
In a room of wild, color swirls and vague bright lights,
Both lady and night inscrutable, backlit by moonlight....

Brick Walls
Brick Walls

One may present some facts,
completely indisputable.
These are soon dismissed,
as being quite inscrutable.

Presenting flawless logic,
with greatest perspicuity
is immediately rejected
because of ambiguity

One may cite, eternal,
laws and codes and precedents.
"That's as well as may be,
but still it shows no evidence."

There'll be no revelations.
No change of hearts appear.
Debating is a waste of time,
To those who will not hear....

Kabbalistic Incantation
The light has reached
us through
    shattered
    vessels
             sparks remain in
our souls
    The scattered lights
in the darkness
   ease our pain
As we touch the infinite
    with trepidation
  we now see the world
 through new eyes
let us be secure
   in the knowledge
That we must accept that there are forces
We will never be able to
totally comprehend
    and that there
are unknown and inscrutable powers
   acting on our behalf...
