Valentine O' Mine

Those entrancing eyes

   Gaze longingly into mine

      What is her desire

         Softly purring in my ear

            (Inscrutable cat o' mine!)

Thank you, Bob, for your kind comment re my poem. I love your Valentine O' Mine poem. I had a white Himalayian Persian - so remember her soft purring in my ear. She used to wrap herself around my neck and just stay there [like a fur collar] even if I got up and walked around. God bless, Maureen :)

I enjoy the economy of words in Tanka, and you've selected well. I'm a recent cat-captive and really enjoy this piece. ~ Chuck

Your cat reminds me of a cat my late aunt had years ago. This cat named "Susie" came in as an alley stray and lived to the ripe old age of twenty. Good tanka for Valentine's Day Sarge.

God Bless Them, These little ones of ours. So sweet and asking nothing more than to be in our presence, to be loved and treated with a kind hand and enough to eat. The best Valentine of all. Great job my friend. God Bless, JB
