Begun Well

She was scared at first, And made it apparent, It was her first day on concrete slab, She was about couple of feel high, As yet she hesitated before the dive, I coaxed her to edge, And made her plunge, There was a loud splash of water, And she was almost done, Huffing and puffing she came out, Swam to the edge, As she climbed up, Her face had lit up, In inscrutable smile, She had begun, And begun real well.
