Prognosis
Every bond I thought was eternal strong
Was so ephemeral to the other
They treated me like a popular song
I was the rhythm and not the lover
I am the misunderstood
The temporary gain for a temporary good
Ah idealism, the cost of you!
The world is full of lonely people today
But none like the altruist
None like him inflexible in belief....

Premium Member Night of the Flying Elephants
The Kenya natives still tell of the time
The flying elephants came out of the mine.
They flew through the air and knocked things down.
People were shrieking and running around.

It was terrific! The ones who were young always say.
It was awful! Say the inflexible, the very worst day.
Quite exciting! The enthusiastic ones said.
I could barely fathom it in my little head....

Fear
The fear is quite irksome
It foods you from within
It is lethal than death
It is inflexible to digest
Fear crushes all happiness
Fear digest all sorrow
Fear kills away all emotions
Sadness shy’s fear
And so does anger
Hates fear
Fear is one and all
It holds a black hole
Within itself
Nothing can dictate fear
Nor can slaughter it
As the timepiece’s needle passes
It will upturn more and more....

Problematic
Shock absorbers don't help,
the axis is broken, the axels are crabbed,
forked up.
No garage can unflex the inflexible,
maintenance cannot be maintained.

Axially speaking, the world
and its billions of video artists
is off kilter.
Social influencers
have sold their souls to the godless
and by god, we are pissed
with just about nothing anymore.

"That's problematic,"
chorus all the blind owls....

Premium Member Wanting To See the Insect Ball
How many more insect balls must I miss?
This was asked by the python who ended with a hiss.
I cannot help it that we have it the same weekend I said.
We had an inflexible relative, old Uncle Fred.

He’s stuck in his ways, I am not going, she said.
I love the insect ball, it is jazzy and red.
The ladybugs and the caterpillars do the tango so fine.
Tell Uncle Fred Iwill not be attending his annual whine....

Premium Member Would Twelve Thirty Work
Would twelve thirty work?
Sure, I say. What day?
She gives me a sideways glance. “Today?”
“Sure,” I agree. ” Why not?”
A glimmer of surprise flits across her eyes.
She is pretty inflexible, so she does not understand me.
She did not understand why she had to have counseling classes either.
But this is my second year at this school.
Now she knows I am a thirty-minute break, and she appreciates me.
She thanks me profusely....

Premium Member Intransigently Intransigent
Why is it the intransigent
find the intransigent
to be pigheaded, willful,
inflexible and pertinacious?
Engaging, as it were,
in an endless “tug-o-war”
neither side allowing
for consideration of
the fallibility of the inflexibility
of calcified recalcitrance.

Stags, horns locked,
dying on an empty stage
bleach-white bones
rattling in an unfelt wind.

Premium Member Bent Askew
Listen to poem:
Bent askew, with shadow straight as a die
reflecting my every move and mood
I dwelt upon the hidden grace of being bent.
For curved things are strangely stronger
than straight things, so rare in nature.
So prone to shatter to pick-up-sticks, straight bits
when compliant and inflexible.
Fearing the wind will turn you into a statue
if you flap, furl, curl and yield to change,
and take a backward step, arching back,
away from the straightforward....

Premium Member Library Patterns
Listen to poem:
(Another childhood poem)

A pamphlet file in green metallic
thrusts through neon antinight
its cornered self, harsh in glare.
Piers of five-tiered fingers --
shelves -- extend beyond,
in series: a formal pattern,
rectangular and angular.
Artificial electric shine reflects
bland or blatant color.
There are books, some in disarray
in order placement on the shelves.
All: solid, relentless, inflexible.
And most were made for use
by patterns much more rigid still....
