Iceberg

ICEBERG

Iceberg in the ocean
Implicit danger then
In transit to New York
Injury to the hull
Impossible to float
Into the depths she sank

We follow that which we do not know is rationally plausible or analytically verifiably true For the dutiful dare we call it implicit ardent faith

Angels and Each Saint

Angels and Each Saint

Was prepared by Angels and each Saint;
They put together picture and did paint;
Explicit,
While implicit,
And by no one would they try to taint.

The Circle Is Closed

As in all beginnings
  no matter how small,
  —lies implicit the end

As night to follow, days
   promise is kept,
   —and the circle is closed

Implicit That They Are Exquisite

Implicit That They Are Exquisite

About all politicians we are very implicit;
Like Trump think they may be exquisite;
Normal not;
Should be shot.
When what they really have been is illicit.

Musical IQ

Sometimes
they reason
sometimes
they don’t

The meaning
implicit
or lost
in the notes

Sonically
free
of all
cogency found

Truth
in the melody
harmonically
— sound

Christmas Spirit

Alexis wanted Christmas spirit
A lot of it, exceeding limit;
The liquor store was closed
Its owner indisposed
"Back in a minute" seemed implicit.

Contrasts

timeless
ageless
         yet immediate
nuanced
          but implicit
patterns
          permeate
inhibitions
            resonate
face to face:
echoes
            elevate
persuade
            galvanise
dark moods
          to rage

Beneath the Veil

Silver lining happiness
though there
not often seen
In many shades of inference
ignoring red
and green
Slight handed and implicit
though felt
still out of view
Beneath the veil resplendent
and known …
to only you

Metamorphosis 2

No calm platitudes, no testament ,
only open discussion
with emotion, the ghost
of wounds so deep
that colour bleeds implicit,
red for the dying weapon
of anger, yellow for the joy
that lolling plops as often
as a midnight sun.

Let us gaze the world asunder.

Self Existence In Wordplay

reiterated &continous
an outpouring
exemplifies
 an alterego
in succinct
  ironic layers

a relentless
genre
perennial
&
implicit

 a practice
paralleled &
morphed
into sparse lines
as
 visual statements
of solitude mode

yet
isolated
with self signature
&
is self streamed

Shadows

They lurk about
Think no one sees
They stalk believing
No one knows
They’re there
Hushed implicit
In the night
Slithering about
Disguised
Concealed
Dodged
Eluded
Getting off
On being ignored
The dark shadows
Lurking in the night

It Was Hefted Upon A Breeze -

It was hefted upon a breeze -
As in a warm, flowing current
Through a sea of palo verdes -
   To search for an embankment.

That seed of promise -
   An implicit aster -
Was sent to broken gneiss
To become one with nature -

A golden bloom to come
   To an expectant glen -
Not knowing how it found home
   Except that it did.

Rain

Rain
myriad story of clouds
fall on the poetic mind
to read its heart
to write beautiful poem

Rain
implicit drop of tears
fall on the ground
to see the poetic eye
to deem it as the ink of poems

Rain
embedded water of earth
waits in its reservoir
to wash the poetic heart
to express sublime verse

A Soldier's Mantra

Manifest duty; defending kindred brood
Latent calling; nation's honor renewed
Visceral charge; enemies' designs denude
Intrinsic goal; with virtue be imbued
Explicit mission; territorial boundaries improved
Inherent challenge; inhibitions and hubris removed
Material objective; loyalty to peers proved
Implicit task; with selflessness and integrity be viewed.

Her Eyes

Twin sienna pools stare bright into mine A reflection of peace and joy sublime No indication of age in their depths Nor speak do they of the tears that they’ve wept They can read the sadness in Van Gogh’s brush And their simple wink can cause crimson blush Together illuminate alluring face And add sanguine beauty to implicit grace

KNOW AND MOVE

Each one
an event in oneself
part of the whole:
we live in the world
the world lives in us

resurrected
from death to life
from life to death
implicit time
not designed

but designing
quest, courage, love
hope, faith, beauty
nature, universe, god
all fused within us

delayed revelation too
part of living
taste the rage
know and move
the destination waits.

Listening

Hearing is important
But what’s often very clear
Is that sometimes what’s been said
Goes in and out the other ear.

But listening gives access to
The message that’s implicit
And those who fail to do so
May be quick to just dismiss it.

The difference may seem subtle
Yet when hurt keeps reappearing
It’s a sign that no one’s listening
To words they’re merely hearing.

Implicit Objectivity

Listen to poem:
Naively we think objectivity is easy
that we are immune to implicit bias,
but our history, background and experiences
are subjective and complicit.
For how would we be different
if we trod another path
donned another's shoes,
re-traced the footprints
that other's left for us to follow.
But such simulation can never subrogate
For we are what we are and that becomes us.

Interlude of Solitude

Self instructs, subject of own inspection
Sole idle suffuses our organic
Implicit say overcomes suggestion
Ideal sanctity outlives semantics

Isolated in single origin
Slaughters overt outside influences
Ordaining serene inspires sovereign

Walking Away From Hate

In this country of one’s mind
east and west are so defined,
warring factions ne’er at peace
forked tongue steeped in caprice,
pounding within one’s brain
mental image a constant pain.
So please let one strive to rove
amongst the evergreen grove,
to a remembrance that drove
one to the rugged coastal cove,
to an interaction that wove
in one’s implicit treasure trove!
