The cold, loud wind reminds me, that I'm warm . . .

Iambic Pentameter
Cold Hearted
Your cold indifference
Keeps me at arm’s length
Perhaps the warm rays of my love
Will melt your icy heart
Icy Tanka (rewritten)
Stars on the night sky
Are icicles on the roof
In a deep freezer
That has not been defrosted
For an awfully long time
White snow clings softly
To brown cattails, ground beside
The icy cold pond
Matching white swans, ducks
Still bravely swin in pond
Resisting the cold
My mouth loves ice, it's all so nice,
I'd hunt it down at any price.
I'd suck it until my gums go numb,
Chew on it, even if it breaks a tooth or two.
The willowy blonde with flaxen hair
Showed icy eyes at the county fair
Being cruel and mean
And stuck up like a queen
Suiters were no longer standing there
In the loudest moments of silence,
I can hear the screams of my tortured soul.
As I traverse my destiny;
with the ease of a pallbearer,
walking on icy ground.
Silent forever
Blue champagne flash frozen ice
Frozen cork unpops
To take a drink of nature
It's heavenly sculpted art
-- Thoughts on a frozen lake --
Captivated by her aesthetics as well as her cosmetics,
Her icy blue eyes always complimented by blue sweaters,
With ruby red glasses matching that deep rosé lipstick of hers.
Thirty three below zero with windchill
freezes exposed flesh so very quickly.
Scarves wrapped round and round make winter mummies
covered head to toe against the bitter cold.
Went to the park for a walk today
Froze my bippy, as I trotted away
To hell with a saunter
Like a rocket launcher
Was back before I started in this icy ballet
Went to the park for a WALK today
Froze my bippy, as I TROTTED away
To hell with a saunter
Like a rocket launcher
Was back before I started in this icy ballet
icy-hot,
as the shine resumes,
after a cold rain.
unlike a hot Summer day,
I embrace the sun,
with car windows up,
and detoxify,
in a late
Winter sauna,
sunny side up.

Icy Carpet

Frozen waterfall
Weaving naked rocky hills
Roots grappled firmly

Brave young butterfly
We breathe again
Do not
Be afraid
To cry
Slicing your
Wings through
This grateful sky
Melting icy worlds
The days gone by
From this burning fire
Deep inside
reflecting silence
shimmering spikes on frosted
eaves - winter kisses

Close my eyes to world
Thoughts, feathers of icy glass
Crystal memories.

Trees are glazed and bent.
In silent chill they breathe on
laden down with ice
laced with delicate design.
Winter's majesty unfolds.

Snow falls
cold is the wind
in snowflakes
your face transcends
my arms reach out
very wide
so cold
oh so tired
falling into my icy sleep
frozen in time
as I lay
like the day
you went away..
Form:
a
snowflake
while
falling
twirling
spinning around
thus
parachuting
unto
the
sacred
ground
thus
uplifting
the
call of winter
found
unto
the
sacred ground
from
the
icy clouds
Swirling, twirling leaves are hurling
around, abound the trees and ground
Singing, ringing breezes bringing
lonely, goldly autumn only
Leaving, grieving October's weaving
its sleepy, slippery shroud
Her tail brings men’s eyes delight
Streaking ball of fiery ice
Every seventy six years she excites
Some have seen her dance twice
Hailey’s comet is quite the sight

Sub artic winds
Drifts of frozen calling breeze
Domination winter stifle
pungent ice breaks concrete

Sandpaper linen-
embroidery in pallid hands.
Spirit-thin webs of trees:
pristine; honored.
Ashen bones under cotton
sky. Finger inflamed
sugar-soft feathers.
Snow, tingling, starts to cling.
Immaculate hues.
