Between ticks of eternal clock, I hushed a lifetime of perception.
3rd in 1427 Monoku Line Contest by Brian Strand
A hushed cave,
holding secrets deep.
A folded petal,
never to speak.
A locked treasure chest,
where all memories sleep.
Down I fall
Followed by the roof and four walls
Hushed
Humiliated
Crushed
But I still have space to crawl
dust-hushed
spine-cracked whispers~
words trapped in vellum veins
ghosts thumbing gilt-edged tragedies
quiet
Hushed, quiet and still
the forest revives my soul
I remember me.

Solace in Nature contest
Soft zephyrs caress,
Nature's secrets gently shared,
Leaves in hushed delight,
A symphony of whispers,
Breezes serenade the night.
it's like a singer
performing on stage
without vocal chords
his words fall
hushed in silence
like a deafness
upon ears
that hear
A hot tear
Skydived
In a free fall
Rolled
Accidentally stumbled
Splashed and smashed
Forever hushed
Crushed
From miles around, hushed
throngs gather. The magician
saws a girl in half...
Illusion or delusion
~ Who asks a girl what she thinks
The echo hushed me
Whispered
“I’ve heard it all before”
the moon hid the sun
witnessed by the gentle eye
betwixt and between
mainstream cosmic clamor hushed
thieved are moments of magic
Airborne chameleons
in the snow-blown morning:
dull white, grey gulls flying,
silently disappear
against dull white, grey clouds.
Light snow falling soft
Brushed gently on the firm ground
The icy wind hushed
Pale moonlight pearled the flakes
In landing the snow awakes
red passionate rose
dances, dropping wilt petals
wan ivory keys
piano plays endless notes,
sobbing hushed old ardent tune

my muse
falls silent
in darkness
hushed
thoughts
flicker dim
like stars
beneath clouds
i am lost
somewhere
in the blankness
of mind
stillness of the air —
the flame tangoes with my breath
groovy pinnacle
gently hushed ...i dip my hand
in lotion, warm vanilla

I laid my burdens down today.
I prayed graced mercy grant my fade:
Let rushed wind gusts scatter me hushed.
Knowledge whispered in hushed tones,
he listened in silence and concentration all honed,
he now whispers to others-who may or may not listen the drone.
Dame Dogwood, butterfly-dressed
in white, flitters, fine hi-fi ~
Viewing such spring leitmotiv...
A hushed opera!
(4/18/21)
No trumpet blew, yet thunder came,
From streets once hushed, now lit with flame.
A tyrant's crown was cast away,
By barefoot hearts who dared to stay.
My foe, shivering
I drew my sword, glistening
Swooning dead away, he, hushed...
Over to him, ran
I, swashbuckling... Arising
he, screaming madly... Deaf, I
Listen to poem:
hushed at dusk and dawn
I long to hear the pond's song,
a lullaby melody
hummed on the ripples
that lilts, quivers of shimmers,
across my wet fondled skin
In dawn's hushed oozy mist
truths seem soft and gentle
so unsure of themselves
they become blurred shapeless
with no hold, knurl or grip
to bring into focus
Storms swirl around me
To beat and shake my body,
But with my eyes fixed,
Winds and clouds are hushed;
Waters become tense like earth
Under faith's command.
Through hushed musings,
Sigh of peace clings
To winds, and brings
Serenity.
Along roadsides
When dins collide,
Calm of breath guides
My inner sea.
