Sun's sparks settling seaward, sultry-slow
Sleek silver stallions shaping the snow
Hooves hurling healthy helpings of Holiday Cheer
'Tis Christmas in July, sing Kris Kringle's reindeer
Gloaming gone, gloom begins;
gabbling ghouls gyrate on
gargoyles, gawping with their
grim glaucous eyes, scaring
gravid girls, gormless boys;
goatish hooves gigue upon
gibbets, grave corpses jig.

Hoof-deep in twilight,

Cobblestones ring with sound,
Dinning our frightened ears
Over the future’s ground,
Signaling coming years.
But hooves trample you and me.
Damned history.
Ten thousand hooves and horns on the Devil's run
