The Danville Anvil
There once was a blacksmith at Danville
Who made so much noise on his anvil
That the neighbors, one day,
Quietly hauled it away,
And bulldozed it into the landfill....

Hauled
in that
shopping
cart,

tearing the
pavement
with riotous
laughter

even after
those wheels
caught that
crack

sending you
sprawled into
the pickled
night....

Little Orange Troll
Wispy hair blew as he lied and took stands
Carried his giant ego through all the lands
This little orange troll
Hauled all of that bull
How did he hold on with such tiny hands?...

Close Hauled
Damn the nor’easter
hold the wheel steady
Waves from the Kraken
over the bow
Darkness ahead
charts plot the demon
Into the fury

The Barrymore of Bluster
My boss believed he should be on the stage,
And each morning he’d act out on his rage.
If you’d complain or curse,
It made it that much worse,
Until they hauled him away in a cage....

Premium Member Santa
Jolly Santa boarded his magic sleigh
And told his reindeer, “Up, up and away.”
They hauled his round jellied girth
Many times around the earth
Without gifts to bring - supply chain delay.

Premium Member Tweedle Bee Whines
Tweedle the teensy bee was being hauled along with a bunch of stuff.
He thought he was an afterthought, and said to everyone “sure enough”.
Mama had her grip on bags of junk, and he was the end of the line.
She rolled her eyes at his protests, a bee who knew how to whine....

YULETIDE ORIGINS
YULETIDE ORIGINS

On the first day of Yuletide
The winter solstice ends
Twelve days until
A new solar year
A feast to the sun
Odin as the god
Pagan origins
Hauled heavy log
Chance to repent
The giving of gifts
Holly and the ivy
And then adopted by Christianity

Keel Hauled
I almost think you're
 killing me inside.
 No, it must be me.
 I'm mentally killing myself,
 keel hauled over wishes
 and wonderings and dreams.
 You say there's no hope
 but my heart doesn't hear.
 You say you're truly sorry
but I can't believe the end.
 Can happiness truly return
 after such devistation?...

Premium Member Sleep
when glowworms
in the stygian night
threw flickers of light
like scattered gems,

when little birdies cuddled under
their mother’s warmth,
while the long whistle of a train
was dying in the distance,

I sensed the indulgent grip
of the hands of Sleep
who hauled me
to his gilded chamber of dreams!...

Indignation
Your voice, your fickle mind...
It makes me scream.
I scream from inside out,
With no noise escaping my mouth.

Indignation closes my eyes,
Tired.
I am so tired of screaming,
Pretending to tolerate this.

My heart is heavy with the rubbish.
You've gathered it,
And I've hauled it along -
Weighing down our drawn out affair....

Purple Bruise
I suppose you heard the news
My woman gave me an ugly purple bruise
I cant begin to see
Why she hauled off and hit me

Could it be I drank too much
And spent all our money on women, gambling and such
It seems she has developed a very closed mind
And has forgotten how to be kind

Gravity
i tried to fly
but his grip was..
too strong.

frantically grasping my wings,
He pulled me close.
zooming into my demise.

He hauled me down,
throttling me,
free falling toward home.

There was nothing i could do.
no hope.
just the thin clouds dissipating beneath me.

this is what i wanted.
right?
or did i really think i could

fly....

Slipstreaming
Daylight saving time
Springing forth and falling back
Spinning on in close hauled tack
Leaving wakes of fierce held tears
In tidal bores of racing years
With no time spent in quiet peace
Burning daylight sets the pace
For this, the human race.
Tho every once and then we touch
The laid back confidence of such
Who ride the tidal force of life
In joy earned
Satisfaction...

It was it's own little world in it's day
But in this time forty acres not much
Old house and out buildings hauled away
Just something to plow around treated as such
What once was here the plow can't touch

A tear in the dirt a cry in the wind
As the big field machine move now
Dust sting my face when the plow begin
As if to say you should not allow
More than dirt went under the plow...

Trying To Pull Jesus From His Cross
i have walked within your
thunderstorms & broken nails
upon the wood of your maple
casket -- makes me sad

called a dove the vulture of
all hearts (oh my)
hauled dirty stares within
the sack of my brain we all
refrain from bruised egos OH HEY
says the middle finger of my MOUTH
you can only lose
what you never had
and i broke nails
trying to pull Jesus
from his Cross//+\\

Bramble Gates
Hauled up
the breast suture.
You were following the milk route,

epitomizing the fall. From the
golden clouds. Wanting to
swim in blue veins,

you were drowned. The fire
has spurted the blood. A carbon
copy of exit strategy

in your hands, you unreel
the chains of libido in failed
state of limbs.

The cartel has littered
the street with gentle greens,
to buy the lips. Spurned

lover commits a suicide.

Soloists
. for public domain

Hauled away in chains alone,
their names are carved in granite stone;
and kings once perched upon a throne,
now long forgotten, lost, unknown.

And yet they did not so live
to be remembered, or to give
us lessons how to live,
to condemn, ignore, or forgive.

They took birth as they took death,
a beginning and an end of breath,
claiming their own sacred hymn.
We forget kings, remember them....

Premium Member Descent And Ascent

It’s been a while when I felt frozen on the ground
Hotchpotches of skills around, I touched them one by one
With overwhelming joy, l took them in one luggage
I hauled and under a stagnant lake, my inertia has engaged.

When a spark of discernment meddled right on time
I focused on one…so light, I float and I climb
I gained, grew and flourished smoothly in each priority
I ascent, pulling others li'l by li'l on a way across…flying freely.

Meeting With a Mermaid
The mermaid swimming in the sea
was scowling when she spotted me -
quite ghastly with her seaweed hair,
she wasn't rattled by my stare,
and hauled herself on board my boat
(despite her weight, we stayed afloat).
Her scaly tail and fishy smell
convinced me that this gal was Hell,
and then she shoved me overboard.
My shouts and splashes quite ignored,
she cackled loudly, yelled, 'Whoopee'
and left me stranded in the sea...

Furious George
Furious George
was a monkey, so bad
He beat up his trainer
which made him feel glad

You can find him often
pitching a fit
But don't get too close
while he's throwing his ....

Then came the day
when a publisher called
to further a deal
hitherto stalled

But in the end
they rejected his story
and Furious George
left them just a bit gory

He was hauled off to jail
awaiting appeal
while his Curious Cousin
got the book deal
