Lampshades and Hangovers
Wearing a LAMPSHADE when I woke from this bed
All sorts of pounding still in my head
Need some grease
A HANGOVER release
Oh how I think I'd be better off dead...

Of Hangovers
a hangover is natures way
of reminding us that our bodies
do not always agree with
what our minds have decided to do

Hangovers are a back-tax on fun.

To paraphrase T.S. Eliot:
"Can last night just belong to last night?”

I’m not thinking about sins and penance
or making any bound-for-failure resolutions.

I’m giving myself a mental health break....

Drink
Double duce my can is sweating
ice melts to water
jim beam bottle was covered in dust
up is down pleasure is pain
drunken arrest
a@#hole with unspoken thoughts
hangovers black outs
expendable friends
misguided girls quilt ridden
drunks most vicious animals of all...

NEW AGE DYNAMICS 1

New age ethos drives
Urgency here and now
As this weary world
Morphs a new vitality
A sharpening stone
For blunt knives
To cut cleanly away
Old hangovers
And dangling debris

Hagard Distaste
A thousand years pass
In the blink of an eye
An alchohol drenched sky
Bring a lighter and set it ablaze
Rancid cigarettes
Gruesome hangovers
Things you do and then forget
People you meet that you regret
Just one more, and I'm done
Next thing you know, you wake up alone...

Back Then It Was All About Who Got Drunk Last
One of my early girlfriends started to be fun
after she stopped drinking and I started.

Later I sobered up,
but it was never the same;
eventually we lift on different trains
with different kinds of hangovers.

We were two ships in different bottles,
just learning to sail alone
and not sink....

Premium Member Good Bye Hangover Days
I use to be a two fisted drinker,
always getting myself totally blitzed.
Now I'm just a social drinker.
Three drinks and that's it,
because the hangovers I'd experience would linger on for days,
leaving me in a very deep depressed state
and who in their right mind would want to feel that way?
Certainly not me. Good bye hangover days....

Freely Versed Breakfast Muse
Black coffee for sunny mornings and hangovers,
or with the rich cream of a female ungulate caregiver.
A quick Danish for the tardy to arrive,
crispy bacon for first responders.
Duck fat in the skillet fry’s anything better -
let’s it slide off a plate.
Wipe tongues with Oolong,
Be sure to keep a store of nuts and berries.
Chocolates and red wine restores blasé taste buds.
Keep writing love menus....

Alcoholism
An opened fifth of hangovers rests beside his dried driveled arm (drug used by underachievers.) Out cold, head resting on forearm Unconscious in a dreamless world, a portal often frequented: an alcoholics netherworld and mind most disoriented. A parched throat forces arousal And miasmic exhalations rekindle once more pitiful repeated, inebriation. A morning swig begins his day and ends the same as yesterday.

Detoxing From Ethyl
no soap, no ethyl for my skin.

no hangovers left to form my
bottled innocense

may god keep my inner saint
whole so that i may no longer
need to scrub and scour my skin.

may the lord keep me from chaptering
my signatures of sorrow at noonday.

now that all my ethyl gods have evaporated.
i judge all clutter with a sterile sobriety
i take their hollow sinews to the recycling bin.

tossing them in a pile they clank and clutter
 loudly....

Striving Onward…

Cascading meandering rivers
flow toward destination.

Drunken promises—
painful hangovers
of political rain checks.

Lingering dreams—
unforgotten nightmares
teasing hope.

Every u-turn
is not necessarily
a change in destination.

Meander if we will; but
must purpose.

Bewildered
                         Bleeding
Blind justice
	holds her waning breath

A tortuous journey
yet flows towards destination....
