A Problem Shared
A problem shared is a problem halved,

Or at least that’s what we’re told.

But the fact is my dear, that just isn’t true

When the problem is your cold....

Calm downy the wind stepped,
Halved yet was the Moon,
Rain lacily traced mid-distant,
Sunset rays interacted
While gliding forms silhouette backdrops
As ideas place the play....

Premium Member Recipe For Changing the World
So many would change the world
one vs. 7.5 billion, the odds a tad absurd

Yet if you transform yourself and then a friend
you've just halved the odds, perhaps started a trend...

Downfall
It was
a stunning defection
in dark.

+

You felt
halved
in dark glory.

*

Angry,
Hurt.
Reciting the hymn.

Legless larvae
do not want
to become flies.

At her behest, he'd sworn off meat
"She knows best," he's latched to the teat
      With calories halved
      Poor guy nearly starved
No wonder with steak he did cheat

Laughter and Happiness
Laughter and Happiness, men used to say,
Is medicine you should have everyday -
So they laughed and laughed and laughed,
Till their funny bones were halved -
And out of THAT they couldn't find a way...

Halved Hearts
My love's always with you
One half of a heart
When they are together
My mind's blown apart

Our love is as certain
As night is to dark
As clear as Romeo's
Ear for the lark

I'll be with you always
And always will be here
I'm one half of you
With hearts halved to share...

Ramble
I believe in nothing else than this:
Your, my, our
Love,

Is what truly saves me.

No deity can heal me,
No dynasty sire me,
Way of thinking change me,

Only you.

Only you can unmake me,
Burn euphoric,

Create
Destroy
Complete.

The stark realisation of
Being halved and whole
And nothing, if not
Yours....

I Want You
I want you,
To be a drop of water,
From those dreamy clouds
Falling apart,
Through this cold cold air,
Fastening on its path,
Dropping on my expensive specs,
Making it's way down to the frame,
Almost a minute it must take,
Before it slides on my cheeks,
It's size almost halved,
And when it ends itself evaporating,
I want you!...

Widower
Knowing there are
many words for night;
mightwatch,nightshade,nightfall

but none for the space
of a halved bed,
an envelope starched,
flat with white,
unslept in

and hands devoid of
a trace of perfume or rest warmth,
a gentle curve.

Let him cherish the lost presence

of a drowned moon
of darkness long
of standing time....

A Glass
Does it begin half-empty?

No – entirely empty,

Yet easily made full –

That is, until a pair

Of lips sips down

Their fill of cool water.

Now the glass is halved.

Half-full. Half-empty.

Two factions rebelling

Within one army, rivaling.

It is not fullness that rules:

‘tis the mouth and how full-

-ly satisfied the lips are left....

Feather
a feather found
a gift not boxed, not wrapped
not double-bow bound
a gift imagined floating
falling leaf-like to the ground
halved by disappearing stem
tapered grey-white, grey-white line
one side an emerald satin shining stem
green paint over black artistically spread
a half with finest soft silk white hem
etched in grey in paralleled line
sent by a Pegasus-like numen...

Glad I Was There
Another minute has melted away,
Did I into the grey sky stare?
Or, did I help ease someone's sorrows
And feel glad that I was there?

Another hour has suddenly passed,
Did I ,his problems help share,
Knowing that problems shared can be halved,
And was he glad that I was there?

Another day has come and gone,
Did I show someone that I care
By helping him out in some simple way,
And thus, make him glad I was there....

Wails of a Widow
I wonder what my dower would be
if he had not chosen life
A constable -in bag would be
the share - halved - without the choice

Would hold memories I suppose
but those we shared
so, bring me half he owned outright

Bring me secrets on a page
and space them - just so-
that such stuns at a time
could never awe me so

And in it - the design
for such a mystery
and show me confidence in a wife
which entitled him husbandry...

I Was Not Myself
i was not myself
severed by the scissors
of my ego
halved by have-knots
and sharp-tongued cleaves
heaving myself
into a state of dis-ease
abandoning Spirit
beleiving it was never there
lingering in lament
and disjointed intent
sarcastic excisions
of truths i once meant
as if the words "i love you"
were already spent
searching for the Lover
and wondering
where She went
when it was i who left Her
in this unholy descent....

Delhi Blast
I am still naked inside.
Beautiful, trace element
is trembling, involuntarily
in infamy.

You live to succumb again.
The halved body does not stir
after the explosion.
Lips were moving without voice.

Tonelessly your feet
melt in the steps of saints.
The wounded sun is born again
in the name of faceless martyrs.

For whom the birds will fly
after a terror strike ?
The sky was asking the wayfarer,
who has betrayed the path ?

Sal Vation
October sunshine late afternoon
Time hasn’t fallen back yet
Six orange raspberries
Sweetly melted on my tongue
A second harvest
Missed by the catbirds
Found by the ants
A gallon or two of
tiny red and yellow
Tomatoes
To be halved and drenched
In dark Balsamic
With perhaps a slice
Of hot pepper
Yellow
Not the fiery red
And a sip or two
Of Mountain chablis
Then maybe some
Devonshire
Or Chilton
With that hard crust bread
To dip in
olive oil...
