When Granny Gooch comes to visit
We make her sleep on the front porch stairs.
Good thing Granny Gooch
Isn't afraid of grizzly bears!
pink head salmon
leap from the
bright river currents of
the Cherokee River and
flop into the hollow mouth
of the black grizzly bear
Winter comes
In its birthday suit
It waits looking
Snug like North Pole grizzly bear
Lay waiting its prey
Then pounce and fade.

How exultantly I hale
the grey wolf, the snowshoe hare,
and the ferocious grizzly bear.
I raise a glass of ale
to Coopers Rockymountain snail.
our doors are unlocked
country living advantage
having dogs help
no one would dare open that door
their barks frighten grizzly bears and Taylor Swift
I would much rather risk having an encounter with a cougar or grizzly bear,
as opposed to being alone in the wilderness and cross paths with a stranger.

That to me is creativity
persnickety muse showing mean to me
being the best grizzly bear I can be
I am in love with creativity
away
from human eyes
a roar
beat the air
two look
fishing

He fancies himself a Yankee Doodle
He does, my nattily coiffed French Poodle
Struts with nose in the air
Flaunting his layered hair
Just got him a playmate ~ a grizzly bear
It's true that man made it to space,
but can he run a three-minute mile race?
They said it could never be done
till a man, in three minutes, won,
while a grizzly got second place.
Vulpine barhopper
bays pick up line to new moon
Mama-dum-day-do
Feline target wails
unsheathing sharp claws to show
Hatee-hatee- ho
Grizzly bouncer comes
rescues feline in distress
Pa-pa-pa-pa-pow!
Grumpy Grizzly yawns
Hollow tree trunk awaits –
Hibernation
Note: I’d like to dedicate this entry for Andrea’s contest to
Daver Austin, who describes himself as a “grumpy” old man.
Never make fun of a grizzly bear's handicap
They can crush a bowling ball totally flat
Best keep your distance
Even if it's persistent
He's trying to lure you in to make you his snack<>
ENERGY
old tree standing bare
fitful workings underneath
grizzly bear asleep
what the earthworm hears
a mighty boiling nether
blue sky sunshine
level plane
sky forest asleep
mighty roiling beneath
Never make fun of a grizzly bear's handicap
One bite can crush a bowling ball totally flat
Best keep your distance
Even if he's persistent
He's trying to lure you in to make you his snack
Never make fun of a grizzly bear's handicap
One bite can crush a bowling ball totally flat
Best keep your distance
Even if he's persistent
He's trying to lure you in to make you his snack
menacingly big
furry not fluffy
enormous sized teeth
on all continents
brown black and grizzly
undercover
honey lover
hibernation
palpitation
protective
nurturing
large paws
huge claws
bear
Near swift streams
Hear loud screams
Dear ones unsteady
Gear up—make ready!
Fear causes pause
Bear paws claws—
Bead on the Grizzly
Lead story too grisly
Dead hide becomes rug
Deed told with a shrug
'Neath the mountain, on river bends bank
Paw prints left...where old grizzly drank
A canoe, missing a plank
Abandoned...near it sank
My mind, to be frank
Clackety clank
Drew a blank
I thank...

We are winging and prancing
At the grizzly bear bar
The bears are all sleeping
For it is February, so they hibernate
In March we will be scattering,
So we don’t end up on their plate
grizzly bear wakes up
hibernation is over ~
heads for the river

Ferret out each secret fear
