Grumpy Grizzly

Grumpy Grizzly yawns

Hollow tree trunk awaits –

     Hibernation

Note: I’d like to dedicate this entry for Andrea’s contest to
Daver Austin, who describes himself as a “grumpy” old man.

hey, it is so interesting to see this one entered in one of my contests a long time ago. Well I came way back here to ask you something. My partner in the Halloween contest is worried that you are going to close it very soon, because your blog said this week or something like that? I told her you would have to keep it open until it got 35 entries, right? So we have until then? Please let me know. She wants me to post mine soon but I am holding off a wee bit longer. Thanks, Andrea

Diane,I enjoyed the way the grizzly's open yawning mouth reminded me of a tree trunk's hollow opening. Congrats on your number 8 win. LUv, Andrea

And let me today call this poet out of hibernation now ... too many days have missed her charm of words, her subtle wit, and her sweet poetry. Above all I miss you as friend to read and comment on my poetry again. Thanks always

What a WONDEFUL tribute - comparing me to a big old sleepy, grumpy grizzly bear. What I do best is hibernate. (this is most of the time, that is when I'm not grumping around the house) Luck in the contest. If Andrea doesn't give you first place, I shall chew, chew, chew on her. Love, Dave

My wife always said she wished to be a grizzly so she can hibernate all winter. I said to her I would catch her and have her dancing at the end of a rope in a circus. Love your poem. More please

Hi Diane, enjoyed very much the read of your Haiku today! I am also at the point of "hibernating" myself, I am too tired and it is getting cold outside. At lweast we had a sunny day today after days of too much rain Thank you also for your kind comments and have a great weekend!...Gert:)
