She Did Not Care

giggling greta a girl bee from Greece
lollygagged luxuriously on a lady bug beast
buzzing wuzzing worker bees gave her no peace
But she did not care, as her feelings were creased.

Gregarious Giles gladly gathers garnish greens gentle Greta grows.

Haggard Harriet hardly has half her hoppity hare’s health habits.

Greta Saw Trump

Greta Thunberg saw President Trump, felt her shoulders beginning to slump. ’Twas as if a great weight had come down on her fate. And her heart sank as well with a flump.

Inquisitive

Since day one, Greta has melted my heart. Inquiring, curious right from the start… When we played “Let’s go see!” she would cackle with glee, but oh can that girl have big come-aparts!

Sex Bombish

Greta Garbo's name wasn't exactly sex bombish Sounds more like a killer or a creature quite ghoulish Now Marilyn Monroe Stirred my apparatus below Dated her once made me scream and turn bluis

Haiku 3

1
This spring’s rye and wheat
Two sister’s marriage gift from Lord
They are red and white
2
Geeta and Greta
Two sisters from Alpha Centauri
Home to mother earth
3
You said yes
King said no
Both agreed

Greta Garbo

Give me a whisky
With a ginger ale on the side
And don’t be stingy
What great lines
For a great actor
Like Greta Garbo
Her first screen words spoken
But in the end
She just wanted to be left alone.

Greta My Sweet

Greta
Naked and raw
Real, laid bare
Speaking a truth
Not heard here
For thirty years
Greta
I once knew
Another like you
Young and now
I can only weep
For your return
However fleeting
Greta my sweet

Greta's Glasgow Gripe

I wanted to traipse in the desert
But sand dunes were in the way
I went to ski in the mountains
But snow blocked the pass that day

It seems Mother Earth has a game
That she really loves to play
Forget about YOUR calendar
To Mother Earth, today is PAY DAY!

After Greta Robinson

Shine at the centre of all of our hearts
No longer together but never apart
May your love fill us up at each new day start
Til we too, sleep the sleep of angels

Written as an additional 4th verse to Greta Robinson's beautiful poem 'Shine' that you can find here on Poetry Soup.

Rock the Boat, Baby

~ ROCK THE BOAT ~

    Melody: Rock-a-bye, Baby

     Rock the boat, baby
        about climate change
     When Greenland melts
        your elders you'll blame

     As shorelines erode
        and port cities sink
     They'll shame Greta Thunberg
        and call her a fink

Matisse Analysed Part One

MATISSE MAIDENS
Maidens..so many.
Marguerite
dressed so neat
 Laurette and
Lorette so sad, so sweet.
The upstairs maid with Greta Moll
his still life doll.
Odalisques
curves and shapes,
 in colour and drapes.
Chapeaux and Chevelure
with locks astray.
A sister or two,and a wife,
 green with envy,
to paint
     and portray

Glasswings

Masters in transparency, they fly Towards beauty, never open sky Were they borosilicate, maybe they would never ever die Resurrecting of time, their transparency one can not deny Anyway, they could affect the outcome of existence; it will in itself indemnify But time for the Greta oto is fallible; as it should be for any glasswing butterfly

Tough Greta Thunberg

A very young Swede
felt a need
to tell the world the truth.
Less today
and gone tomorrow,
it's very plain to see.
Ice caps melt,
polar bears starve
and plastic
we now eat.
Now Greta
may seem
a bit too tough
but it's exactly
what we need,
a cold hard slap
of reality
regardless
of nationality
may cause us
to stop and think,about what
we leave behind,
before the Earth's extinct.

The Compulsive

The compulsive

Autism in the like of Julian Assange
And Greta Thunberg is a force for the good
Their passion can for them be tragic
they go to any length to follow the truth.

I had a tailless female dog, circled to find
the tail, till she got dizzy.

Obsessive people can be tiresome, have
great courage and suffer for their beliefs.
Heroes are for the quest for honesty.
We should be grateful.

The Conferance

The Conference in Davos

Davos, men in classy suits, speak fluently
about the ills of the world-
They tell Greta she has to study economic
and coal will be phased out but slowly.

The young wonder why should they study
to get an excellent job in a multinational firm.

Davos, men in elegant suits, speak glibly
of growths, we don’t want more; we like less.
The young know this, we poor elderly too
and it is their future; those in silk suits fail to see.

Obesessison

Obsession
Autism in the likes of Julian Assange
And Greta Thunberg is a force for good
But their passion can be tragic for them
As they go to any length to follow
The mania that rules their life.

I had a tailless dog, who had a mania looking
For its tail, circled till it got dizzy.

Obsessive people can be tiresome but they
Have great courage and suffer for their beliefs
They are heroes for their quest for honesty
For what we should be grateful.

All Behave Correctly

Alice actually ate an apple,
Billy broke building blocks,
Cora counted candy corn,
Donna drove decoy ducks,
Elliot's eating eggplant,
Frannie's filleting fish,
George's geeting Greta,
Harriet's hunting hornets,
Inez is irritating Ike,
Jasmine's jabbing John,
Karen's kissing Kevin,
Leon loves Luann,
Monte's mimicking Mary,
Nellie's not-so nice,
Opal's organizing origami,
Penelope's pushing Perry,
Quina's quietly quilting,
Ramona's reading romance,
Sophie's softly singing.

Lament For Greta

LAMENT FOR GRETA

Her reaction was spontaneous as of youth
With emotion’s certainty near tangible
Sought to patronize and brook no other truth
Revelation that she knew must be infallible

Through the portal of the ether her word spread
She would navigate with skill above her league
Little known beyond fixation in her head
She was just a puppet in a great intrigue

Twelve years on should Earth still flourish spite all strife
Will she bless not curse that vapour that brings life
