Here lies Melanie Walker.
A legendary hooker of old.
Her customers must have loved her
because they bought her a coffin of gold.

snow covered gravestone
monument to lost childhood
cold harsh memories
abandoned hope, love and dreams
never a Christmas blanket

Gravestones lopsided
Forgotten behind the trees
Surrounded by grass
Sun crosses risen from earth
Crowned with some olive green mosh

Write on my gravestone.
It was a typing mistake.
Not a random skip.
Rather, it dropped correctly.
Was neater than other lines.

Here lies Abercrombie Wellington Jones
Under the flowers are all of his bones
Young people like to deface his gravestone
Due to all the slaves Jones used to own

Epitaph
BY MY OWN HANDS I KILLED YOU
MY DEAR SELF
TO HELL I SOLD YOU
I DIGGED A HOLE
BURRIED YOU
AND WROTE ON THE GRAVESTONE
REST IN PEACE MY DEAR SOUL
THAT IS YOUR NEW HOME

Remember where I lay
Remember my gravestone
Remember this is now my eternal home
So remember my resting place and remember my new throne.
For my only fear in death - is again being all alone.

Daniel
Reminds me
That a name
That is not a casualty of war
Is a name that may not adorn
A war memorial gravestone
But is rather living among the walking dead
That came home to live out
The days of thunder
For countless others

A gravestone.
It says Sheila Ryan, died aged 59
A devoted mother
Here clinging to the hillside
Striving, for the solemn white cross at the top
Standing
quiet,
unmoving,
unsympathetic.
As soil creep carries the believer down the hill.

I do not know?
"Here am I,
finally alone"
says this gravestone
placed on my bones.
I wonder why...
How long I have to sigh
under its monotone
grave good-bye?

Just a poem, nothing more :)

The tombstone carves itself
When you are ready to embark
On an underground journey
Where your body fades
But your soul survives
Your name is being spelled out
In charming calligraphy
And as the gravestone crafts 2005
You are incapacitated with fatality

Here lies entombed a poet
Whose verses in ether lie,
He seeks no tears of mortals
Neither seeks a mournful sigh;
Gay blooms shrouding his gravestone
Are magical spells of his,
They'll drench your soul with nectar
And pints of heavenly bliss.

Elegiac Lyric
Rose
Blood red
I placed it
On your gravestone
As a symbol of my undying love
You departed this life far too early
I’m all alone
In the world
I miss
you

blowing frost on a star and gravestone
quickening our steps like Charlie Chaplain
turning maple leaf into rubies and gold
churning flocks into wind splashed shoals
now we're hunched over like Quasimodo
the homeless sinking deeper into their hole
November struts about and barks like a crow.

The other half of me
Explains what others see
But only few know that half
That I choke and bleed between every laugh
That there's a king behind the gaffe
That there’s pain in every paragraph
And those who know
Don't know where I'll go
But at least they will be at my gravestone

My collie dog,
a mellon she has
seen, there...
her feeling very
Jolly...
my collie ate
that mellon,
was filled with...
melancholy,
somehow...
Now my collie in her
grave, for this...
mellon proved too
sour, now there...
on her gravestone,
appears
a Melon-Cauliflower

Prose Poetry
Celebrate life as death;
names iced across cakes with love as carved on gravestone—
covet breadth.
Reap or romance;
same chance to see flames, cheer, lie prone.
Our dance,
on clouds—
candles blown.
Crowds.
Celebrate life as death;
same chance to see flames, cheer, lie prone.
Crowds.

No gravestone witnessed on these grounds,
Field of Blood the worn sign read.
Blue flowers thrive with tinge of white
within this field where mercy runs;
Countless folk lie buried here
Abandoned, forgotten– these dead.
Still nature honors them with care
each June when wild cornflowers bloom.

Under the old oak tree
Undying memories
Until tornado winds
Undid that tree, your grave
Unveiled huge toppled stump
Uplifted her through air
Unfound- Felisha Cat.

Sirens cut through
the stillness of the night
blinding lights flashing
Police and paramedics
battle to save you
Chest compression
rhythmic pulses
desperate attempts
to breathe life
into cyanosed lips
Now you rest
under a gray granite gravestone ...
I’m bereft, I feel so blue
