Their heads raised to greet the dawn
Tender shoots to dine upon
A quick bite then they are gone
Precious doe and fawn
like a spotted fawn
digging with a tender hoof
in the drifting leaves
morning paints an autumn song
smiles upon the vivid mists
A gentle fawn weeps
where God has taken a step
The forest his cathedral
—pathway to rebirth
(Dreamsleep: October, 2019)
Regally she turned her head
Flicking her tongue into the morning mist
Tasting cologne in the wind
She gracefully galloped into the woods
Crow caw synthesizer flight
enrapture blackest pit of night.
Rumble drum the saccharine fawn
cold craw stuck remnant
of omnivorous dawn.
soft nest in woodlands
a baby fawn under mom
life untouched renews

"Beauty of Nature"
on the ice of frozen stream
image of the breaking dawn
golden hue in crimson seam
through the fields a waking fawn
watching flight of lonely swan

Lightful lithe lollygagging lexicon
What dictionary page have I been on?
Over adjectives and adverbs, I greatly fawn
Never saying no to a thesaurus, said my cousin John.
Meadows blooming with colorful flowers
which sway in the gentle breeze
A fawn soon wanders by

This young fawn
Who saunters along the town
Soliciting her slender compassion
Month in, year round
Has known tall, dew doused forests
And the moon has made
Her skin quite fair
... lithesome fawn stops, stoops to drink
spring water fresh, cool
and clear
... such graceful creature of art
with a fat flea behind
its ear!
there was a young man named Sean
who pledged his undying love to Dawn
one day at the faire
he met a different woman there
and now he has run off with Fawn

Forlorn
against lorn
in delicate song
the beat goes on
sought an army from beyond
their lies the fawn
in a brigade of song

to the isle of let it flow
there's something you ought to know
An array of flavor
Paints our summer scene
With the striking colours
That in time the two of us
Like fawns had grown to cherish
Aristocratic and original

My doe eyes are taken by yours,
I fawn over your gaze, transfixed,
A deer in the headlights.
You, my white stag, king
Crowned with bone and velvet.
You, my red hart. I am your hind.
It's black before dawn.
Sitting here, feeding a fawn.
Fish in a river, spawn.

The snap of a twig
Doe and fawn quickly vanish
My careless footstep
in her solitude
independence at own risk ~
with quiet resolution
love, you surface me
like pebbles on a fawn beach-
rocky ground turns soft

Mama deer pranced diffidently
checking the meadow for man’s smell
Her spotted fawn trots along
unaware of danger
checking out the food
of pure and sweet
glorious
verdant
grasses
doe and spotted fawn
early spring, bear awakens
doe now feeds alone.

Thank you, Lord, for not having the brains of fawn.
Like the Texas man, who broke into a home, to mow the lawn?

Crewcuts, flattops, pompadours
Cowlicks, ducktails, side parts
Clean cuts, Ivy Leagues, slick-backs
Where have all these hairstyles gone
No longer do the cute chicks fawn ...
