I think they are really special. They are so cute when they are first born. We have lots of them even here in town.

Yep, that tells you it's a recent spring one. Generally mama is around somewhere close to keep an eye on h/her. Had one born in my back yard about three years ago, and my wife got to pick it up and put it over our fence so it could join its mama. It was a marvelous experience for her the summer before she died. Good memory.

Fawns are so much fun to see. I live in Ct and just saw a fawn two weeks ago hidden in the tall grass. The mother hides her there while she gets food. Your poem is so pretty. I can see the picture your words make when I close my eyes.

Thank you so much, Marikate, for your sweet note. A fawn was born in my backyard this spring. I hope she comes back as a yearling, but she probably won't.
