Lionel Trains Owner

Neil Young
Musical influences are far flung.
No doubt that he is way out,
Even touring with a Lionel layout.

His poet’s way with words - far-flung,
Don’t get me wrong I love his tongue.
The words caress,
I acquiesce -
If only he were better hung.

Around a table
far-flung families gather
offer yearly thanks.
I wish I were among them
but still, they don't forgive me.

O, feral feline, femme fatale
   Her fancy footsteps faintly fall...
..In far-flung forests, in fables tall
                             Winged fairies flutter
                             Flights of fancy enthrall

Maybe I Am Just Another Monkey

If you sit a monkey in front of a computer
There is a chance, no matter how far flung
That if it presses buttons at random
It will type a magnum opus
Well, I took a dictionary today
And guess what
The words were always there
I just picked and rearranged them

The blue, far flung canopy
Laced with specks of galaxy
White fluffy hovering clouds
touching pinnacles in crowds
Amazing myths and stories
Of mystic cosmic bodies

Drawing from the shadow of La Manquita
The mighty Spanish master from Málaga
Painted his m'lady borderline grotesque
Features so far flung and un fathomably stretched
She had an eye in Segovia and a nose in Madrid

Premium Member Trail To the Sun

Chromatic clouds from sunburst horizon
waft across satin sky on far-flung wings
As the focused surreal sunbeams flush
the glistening window pane of my mind,
the reflecting rays make a trail to the sun
my life in the mist of winter will walk.

Premium Member Windswept Night

bluster in moonlight
all around lime trembling trees
and through fragrant fields

in a far flung dream
to be everywhere at once
under diamond stars

blooms have lost petals
there's howling in the valley
drowning out all sounds

raging's at the door
and all the windows rattling
cozy fires tonight

Falling Away From Me

Premium Member The Children Run

A Heptastich.

Reminiscing of our three-nipper sons
from a distant reality, far-flung.

Whenever the children run, laugh, or play.
Life through their eyes is but a game.
And they will change, soon that time comes.
Whenever the, children run, laugh, or play.
It's like Manna from Heaven. What, more need I say.

Appreciate some time out for annual holidays.
Unify with friends, or bask in warm sun rays.
Go and visit attractions, or a far flung beach.
Unfamiliar places you must travel to reach.
Summer days shorten, soon it will be fall.
The most colorful season of them all!

From the other side of the world
In the quiet of our sleep,
Some friends perhaps we’ll never see
Into our forum creep.
To them our world is upside down.
We’re standing on our heads.
When we awake to read their words,
They’re dreaming in their beds.
This diverse and far-flung group
Brought together by Poetry Soup.

Mountain Waterfall

Hey mountain waterfall is tumbling,
 it dandles on the rocks
 and pale-faced maid
carried, would faint on the hands.

Hey breaking is the foehn spruces,
 snatching is on the peaks.
Its arm is swift and strong,
 but summits will withstand it.

Hey trickling is a drizzle.
 It's spreading to the huts
in mist is rising to the clouds -
 far-flung is to the sky.

After the Storm

AFTER THE STORM Mid deepest black of heart break sorrows Vanish fear of dread tomorrows, Cruel pain that scars and shakes us Bravely heals and then remakes us. Dawn Light bids from far flung hills, Joy surrounds –with each step thrills. Doubts will vanish with a sigh-- Mindless worries pass us by. Treasured arms enfold us--warm-- After the storm.

Dreams and Light

I rested on a beam of light
In between sleep and night

Journeying far
Beyond far flung star

All as it seems
Between light and dreams

Galaxies and constellations
My own machinations

Dreams, half a world away
Light, tomorrow and yesterday

Dreams and light
I travel far in to the night

Once upon a dream
Once upon a night

Light upon my bed
Dreams, in my head

When Love Sour Soon

When love sour soon,

 The earth seems pause

 Friends become stranger

The sky looks limited

Opportunity become scarce

The stars seems far flung

Lover become foe

When all the dew drops gathers

in the ocean

My tear drops will pour as rain

My pain will no more be a trial

But a golden crown

Even if the love sour soon

Still my love would remain unadulterated.

The day's wound down, its course's been run
The moon's a reflector, long gone's the bright sun

Your offspring transition to destinations far-flung
At work your job goes to a much younger one

You pack your boxes, put your house up for sale
Retirement villages beckon with their 'Holy Grail'

You're about to enter your Golden Years
Whence all your doubts? Where from your fears?

I Love You

These angels born of restlessness
Soliloquies of dreams and lace
Dance among the gilded tears
Upon the pages of thy face
Yet from thy lips my heart devours
Rising from that hallowed well
Each and every far flung flower
Tis said from where all passions dwell
No greater glory for my ears
No fonder words are ever spoken
Than these three words for all the years
From a heart but newly woken

Grandma's Garden

Apples and Azaleas are always around.
Bright beautiful buds bloom while
crisp cultured cabbage and cucumbers
dot the darkened dirt.
Every edible is excellent.
Fame is so far flung for
Grandma's glorious garden that
Handy Horticulture has offered to hire her.
Imagine, envision her incredulity of their insistence.
Just another jovial, jocular juncture in Grandma's jubliant journey.

As the World Turns

Slipping through the veil of night
Beneath the far-flung skies,
She flutters like a sail in flight---
She feeds her frail heart’s delight---
She turns to hail the morning light
Beneath the star-hung skies

Aurora, in Her cloak of grey
Sweeps back the shifting dark---
As dawn reveals the stroke of day
And nighttime goes it' smokey way---
The sky's deep blue now broken, frayed,
Sweeps back the lifting dark

Black Rain Is Gonna Fall: a Triolet

Black rain is gonna fall: Triolet
----
The clouds are gathering to again
over the far-flung island of dark, black mud.
The wound of last lashing is still raising pain.
Shhh… clouds are gathering to pound again.
Meandering the village, flows the river stain
with the bodies of men, beings; swept huts.
Now, clouds are gathering to again
over the flooded earth, broken and suffered.

Premium Member The First Days of Spring

Uprooting dreams of yesterday, time sows the seeds of tomorrow. Grey clouds shed tears in April rains, as winter wanes and warmth abounds. Fleeing far-flung sanctuaries, migrating birds start heading home. And on the winds of open sky, caterpillars try newfound wings. Wild trillium and daffodil, usher in the first days of spring. And tulips flaunt their waxen bells atop stems of emerald green.

Drinking In Sorrow

The man in the isolated bar
Had come in a dust-engulfed car
From a destination, very far
Like the far-flung star:
Via routes of more sand and less tar.
Now, drinking to be calm,
The stuff, a believed balm
His cup plastered to his palm
Not likely to occasion him any harm…
It’d been the poorest harvest in his farm!
A drinking in sorrow
By one bound to borrow,
Certain that this life is hollow
And it’s best of tracks, not one to follow.
