Okay then, let’s spray it with color.

You look punky, woman, in the zone

Premium Member watching tv angel stories

I watch angel miracle stories on my TV
with a host I dislike
but the stories are terrific
It is an old show, from the eighties.

Not for me

Premium Member Things I Don'T Like

Pet droppings on upholstery
Roaches (they freak me out most preposterously)
Elevators that stall out 'tween floors unexplainably

Premium Member Alien Woman Fell On the Right Date

Alien woman has fallen to earth in a surprise move.
Luckily, it is the eighties, and she gets on her groove.
Others do not notice, she fits in and is pretty much unseen.
I think that it helped a bunch that it was on Halloween.

Eighties Shadies

Eighties Shadies

There once were two fine Southern Ladies
Both sisters and late in their eighties
By day who were prim
Come night hit the gin
And skinny-dipped down in the shadies.

Premium Member Great Grandma Gerty

Great-grandma Gerty of the family Grim
Threw around threats, controlling them
Threatening to cut them out of her will.
If they drank, smoked, danced or used a pill.
In her eighties they thought it won’t be long
But she is one hundred and two now, still going strong.

Premium Member Remembering the 1980's

The eighties ignited a hair bomb
With Siouxsie And The Banshees
Cyndi Lauper and Platinum Blonde

With enough Final Net and a thorough tease
Your hair would stand up to the stiffest breeze

being 'sixty' was
nearing a...
retirement age

and the sixties
were fun just...
as the seventies

were mainly a
pleasure and now
the eighties are

closer to what they

life on the edge of

who wears short shorts?
WE WEAR SHORT SHORTS!
four really pretty teen girls.
A happy singing commercial created in the eighties.

I was stunned by their enthusiastic joy and prettiness.
I cannot remember what they were selling.
Maybe panty hose?
But I still sing their jingle fifty years later.

Premium Member Drunken Painter's Delusion

The purple moment of the canvassed dome
Pink pastel orgies like Miami in the eighties
A figure sits insignificantly on the periphery
To be of her dream is to need to be seen
In the drunken painter's delusion
If she weren't so high there'd be no coral sky
To chart our own dreams by

Premium Member What A Feeling

Music in her heart
Beating so strong
Lyrics in her heart
Jubilation in a song

Her sweet memory on the rocks
People seen on her locks
Voice of Eighties recalled
Fame of Twenties unfold

Cara, a face in a melodious tongue
Simplicity in her lang
Irene, "What A Feeling" in a smash prance
What a healing in a Flash Dance!

King of Pop

(In memory of Micheal Jackson)

An icon he was, Our king of
Pop
Rising during the Eighties, to
the Very top
Making himself out to be, the
cream of the crop
Carrying on for his Public, as
if he couldn't stop
Like, he for Our undivided at-
tention, wished to shop
Only to leave Us, at age 50,
causing for Our hearts to drop

Premium Member la la land

Suduko, Bollywood, LOL, IDK
Racino, tighty-whities, LGBTQ
Labradoodle, stevia, BFF
Terms and words unheard of in the seventies
Or eighties
Or nineties
But no one back in the day would have guessed
A convicted felon who says he wants to be a dictator
Would be elected to the Presidency of the USA either
We now live in La La Land

Premium Member Forgotten Beauties

The new owners
marveled at the
long forgotten perky mini doilies
with their dainty white petals

two layers of weeds away
from soft pink hollyhocks
hidden for forty years
alongside the forgotten abandoned barn

a human had probably not seen
any of these dainty delights since the eighties
when the farm was lost by the family
to bankruptcy
