Summer fades as thunder clouds roll in,

Darkened skies hold lightning bolts within.

Autumn rain shares laughter with the din.

As splashes of hues become akin,

A race in which the sturdy will win.

Leaves dance and twirl like the ladies spin.

They trill us and thrill us at night
  Wing their way through the day
Soaring high in tranquil blue skies
  or huddling in trees when it rains

Indigenous Americans, their feathers treasure
  These frequent flyers give man such great pleasure...

Veneer of ebon rancor time had spread on my life
Even more opaque it was made by smear of strife
Rinsed by the edifying shower of divine grace
Year on year, I restored my heart’s crystal face.

Pristine humane emotions now transparently flow
