Child Beauty
Chubby cheeks,
with red dumplings,
a chin having,
a deep adorable sink,
with wide blue eyes,
having a naughty twink,
his golden locks,
were soft,
and plenty,
his baby fragrance,
I used to inhale deep,
as in my lap,
he used to sleep,
its only when,
he stirred,
burped,
and crapped,
that his innocent helpless,
beauty,
in fact seeped....

Premium Member Elephant Dumplings
Elephant dumplings in my soup.
They are tasty and delicious.
Warm and fleshy to boot!
Come on, don’t crowd.

Elephant dumplings get them here and now!
They are frankly a big fat wow!
Not easy to beat.
Believe me, it’s a rare treat!

Elephant dumplings forever great.
Come for supper but don’t be late
For elephant dumplings you must taste.
There will be very little to throw or waste....

Old red rooster strutting his proud stuff
He crows and crows waking people up
He's king of the yard and hen house too
Don't provoke him or he'll use his spurs on you

He wasn't aware that the child was delicate as lace
When he attacked her flying in her face
This cruel act surely sealed his fate
This is the reason that he was dumplings on the plate

Premium Member Glad to Allow Little Red to Join Us
Everybody helped build the communal treehouse
Badger, fox, bunny, chipmunk, squirrel, owl and mouse.
In the end we served molasses, honey and jam on bread.
Can I join you up there? Asked a hen named Little Red.

We knew she was picked on by her lazy roommates.
So we said “why not” and she brought along some crates.
We now had pecans, dumplings, tootsie rolls and fresh sirloin.
We were certainly glad now that we had allowed her to join....

People have formed in clumps
like little Chinese dumplings
under the few trees,
where the grass is thick and damp.

In the center of the park
a group of twenty-somethings
throw a frisbee;
their athletic legs
stutter and flutter and step.

Shirtless and bikinied,
their sweat looks like condensation
on a glass of ice water:
the beads mysteriously leaking from the skin.

That’s the body’s way of telling them
it’s too hot to run....

Homemade Dumplings

Now watch this she would say my mother taught me this
And her mother taught her you might not get another chance
Everythings in the book I did change the pallbearers for you
Recently made it easier for you thanks mom that’s really kind
Of you was it 2 to 1 or 3 to 1 mom? Flour to eggs I gotta keep it
Simple in my head you know I gotta look at that book one day
Where did you say you kept it again?

The Turkey Is Too Dry
often
various punctuation,
leave their strange hats
in the small
humbleness
of my cloak room.

usually i have
a small
folding table
in the kitchen
set up for thirteen.

they each sit
& drink
from the
cuppletts of sound.

their plates
are heaped with
the dumplings of symbols.

punctuation
always waits for
the final image
to come hot
from the oven.

Often the punctuation
coughs & complains
that the turkey
is too dry....

Grandmother's Hands
As a child I would place my closed eyes
in them
while she hummed Gaelic melodies.

Her smock, it was brown
like a butchers apron
but without a speck of blood,
just daubs of fruit dumplings
and the savor of elderberry flowers.

Grandmother had large hands
working hands,
when they closed
it was as if her story book
had closed
at the end of every day,

and that is how she goes away
always very quietly
at the end of every day.

Three Course Meal
Good morning gorgeous, how’s you today.
Nipped out for a bite yesterday which reminded me
Why I fancy the pants off you.
The starter was light just a kiss and cuddle.
Main course was a lovely rump, cheeky, served rare
Sweet, you are my delicious delight, so warm, sticky and gooey such a lovely treat.
Now if your heart isn’t the way to finding my love
Then your dumplings and muffin will fill me up with lust.
After all isn’t the way to a man’s heart through is stomach....

Winter Solstice Festival
Winter Solstice Festival
Winter Solstice features the longest night and shortest day;
The Yin reaches its pinnacle while the Yang starts to play.
The festival was once celebrated as the start of a new year;
And now it’s the cultural legacy we all cheer.
The exchange between cold and warmth is preset by Nature;
Who can change the course of rise and fall in his favor?
Sweet dumplings and Jiaozi separate the north from the south;
Dare I ask when you can ride the moon back to our house?...
