Old Red Rooster

Old red rooster strutting his proud stuff He crows and crows waking people up He's king of the yard and hen house too Don't provoke him or he'll use his spurs on you He wasn't aware that the child was delicate as lace When he attacked her flying in her face This cruel act surely sealed his fate This is the reason that he was dumplings on the plate Entry into Brian's latest contest July 19, 2011.. This was written in 2008

Kim, Thank you for your comment. Yes, he got his just desserts. I was glad to see him go but that foot that was served up on my plate was terrifying. Sara

Congratulations for your success in my contest, Sara. This one brought back a few memories. It was a Silver Wynnadote Roo that was too tough for the barbecue. He got my grandson when he was 3. (Not bad, but he got meaner and meaner...So, you know the rest of the story.) Thank you for entering. Smiles, Dane Ann
