Sadness swallows me
Darkness follows me
Light reflects me
People dissect me
Through my emotions
Drowning in the ocean
Triggered Jealousy
green eyes storms flares hot
ruptured crust, hot lava, ash
drowning drifting calm

A true story
Help me, I'm drowning
so why are you frowning
Put a smile on your face
frown's gone, not a trace
Drowning in a body of oxygen
And yet I can't breathe
Drowning in an ocean of happy
A happy I don't know how to feel.
As you think deeper,
You end up drowning in thought.
If you can just see
Everything is as it is,
As all gods intended it.
He knew her well in his youth.
She was refined, he uncouth.
Maiden so fair
now see her there
drowning in his gin/vermouth
Guess Who…
By Dane Smith-Johnsen
Rolling waves of tears
Drowning with problems and fears.
Guess who saves the day.
With the sun drowning;
into the depth of His clouds
The wind continued;
to gust the only beauty;
and true colors of nature
Drowning in mad lies
The only thing left to do;
is cry out and cue;
For tomorrow is the same
Praying I would still be sane
Your love is like a tidal wave
Drowning me
Too mighty to escape
It overpowers me
Cannot run from you
Cannot avoid your wrath
Thrust of lust, in form of dust,
spawns storm of dark deeds unjust
and greed we breed, drags soul down
in fears, where we drown.
Feeling like I live
Inside bubble of sorrow.
Drowning in my mind.
All these bad dreams consume me.
Nothing at all what it seems.
Bubbling torrent
foams and spits at the future
verbal battery
drowning in a sea of words
would you please, please just shut up!
Snuffling for truffles
Scenting morsels of delight
Delirious swine
Drowning in the oyster beds
Drunk on mysterious wine

Rescue Me Baby
I am Falling and Drowning
Rescue Me Baby
I splash uncontrollably in a milky way
Paddle away my drowning fate-- cup me out of demise
I bump body on bowl spoon, soaked like cereal
Why not make the most of life, son?
What have you got to lose
Easy to say, here in my rocker
Drowning my sorrows in booze
Controlled to extremes
Unable to move
Without you leering at me
I slowly starve of reality
Of air
Suffocating
Drowning
'Me'
Dies
Voracious eater
Courageously devours
Large quantities of
Oysters and snails
Drowning Them
Making no big deal of
His Edacious Manner
euphoric in chlorinated water
a splash
grandma has arrived
small ducks
chatter
and cling
battle for hugs

Music…
drowning the words
in false harmony
Honesty…
lost forever
inside the verse
(Villanova Pennsylvania: October, 2013)
I see you, broken,
Drowning deep in tears you shed.
Your heart to shards left,
By one playful and silly.
Who's gone, to wreck another!
It's like I'm drowning
and you're the water
but somehow
you're also the air that I need to breathe
how that is
I'll never understand.
The bitter spatter of the rain
Revives a road that's getting wetter.
A pitter patter sings of pain:
Makes drowning ink run from a letter.
