Tanka-One

Life like an insect be.
Dispensed crushed under feet.
praised by sect and creed.
woman galore mine to keep.
Bliss Forever in heaven.

Kneegotiation

There once was a crusty old geezer
Who really knew how to please her
It may have been brash
But he dispensed cash
Whenever he wanted to squeeze her

Table Salt

Table salt is only truth
Filled up to the lip.
Sitting there upon your booth,
Waiting to be tipped.

Over shoulders it's dispensed.
The truth so quickly stricken.
Sacrificing common sense
For useless superstition.

Out of his mind
  lost all control
Whither his soul

Mad as can be
  completely insane
Whereto his brain

Garbled speech
  making no sense
Illogic dispensed

Here he comes now
  staring off into space
Kindly greet him with grace…

He’s a card-carrying member
  of our crazy rat race

Premium Member BEFORE

bands of fleeing lovers

tumble from your dusty room
to their real lives and relatives
those hours with you dissipated
dispensed with the innocence
of Before
now, you must return unclean
to others who thought they knew you
to things pure and untouched by Life
smiling with the innocence
of Before

Premium Member Snarky Words

Snarky Words Written: by Miracle Man 26/2023 How oft, toward others, have snarky words been deployed. Unleashed without thought, and valued friendships destroyed. Once words were dispensed, we felt remorseful and retreating. We then spewed “I’m Sorry,” but forgiveness was often fleeting.

In the Night

A tragedy to be without thy love
Thy lips are landmarks of passions reward
I starve in death to see her eyes once more
In hopes anointed by the hazel glare
With rope and chain my hands and feet are bound
And all arrested air I breathe decease
My love dispensed her blood upon my blade
Which left a man a widow in the night

it's hard to understand

when cash is dispensed

Premium Member Evil In the Night

Darkened translations emerge from the night.
Fledglings tarnished as they hide from the light.
Parvenue casualties from antiquated sin.
Depraved menage is how it dared begin.

Retribution will one day be poignantly felt.
Severely dispensed, his wrath will be dealt.
No one can hide from their diabolical display
Destruction will find thee and bring your end of day.

Whose Child

Karl was pasted to the park bench
constable Dodds raised his body with a heavy
kick followed by a smart crack from the night stick

Karl’s swollen ear tried to pull
his face from the bench
once more with the night
stick and he was up

Karl limped to a nearby tree and dispensed
himself before striking an angry fly
loaded at the bigbucks across the street
three men with very tiny heads burst into laughter

Born

Warm harbours spread their welcome arms,
  Endeavour to enfold the frail
And fragile form of he who breathed
A primal breath of life's avail.
Arriving, wrapped in blanket blue
  And softer than ethereal cloud,
His right to own the given gift,
  Miracle seized and cried aloud.
Of womb dispensed and warm caress,
  To claim this earthly ministry
Of life and love and fated chance,
Born just as kings are born to be…

Premium Member Penitence

Penance

A thousand souls queue
outside his confessional while
he scans the cards of sins.
How many
Hail Marys, Our Fathers,
rosaries will be
dealt today?

Wisely dispensed devotions
from behind the brown curtain,
the shadow grid,
will part God’s pearly gates
for a penitent multitude.

I’m at the back of the line
and worry I’ll not make it
to the booth in time.

The Garbage Ghost

It is a plasmid wraith of thickened odors,
its organs, the sticky slops
of dead-end days.

It hungers for discarded dregs,
the dispensed with and disposed of
are its haunt,
scraps of yesterday trail behind it
as grey tentacles no longer able
to feel.

Soon the trashmen will
ambush the bins,
heave them into a reeking wagon,

yet it will return tomorrow
smelling worse,
for nothing absolves us
from its un-recyclable curse.

Diamond Tears

Tears are liquid diamonds, mined from the soul.
Nothing within us so reveals our most perfect and
Raw emotions as do the genuine tears we shed.
For smiles are easy, dispensed with little truth or effort.
Tears are hard, arising from the depth of a labored soul.
So, labor on my soul, and consider not to smile.
My flesh will attend to smiling, for those who matter
	Little, and care less.
But you, my soul, cry, and offer up those diamond tears.

Premium Member Miss Pat and Her Rules

The list of infractions
caused many to bypass Miss Pat’s residence
Home for Glistening Seniors.

Many moved toward more lively establishments
That allowed fraternizing, drinking and dancing
All the things her home banned.

Miss Pat had dispensed with two rules
hoping to win them back.
Going to bed at seven
and waking up at four a.m.
She liked to serve breakfast at five.

Apparently it was not enough.
She was out of business in a short time.
