Sunrise

The fiery orb now grows in warmth slowly,
Liquid gold, limpid glows,
Gilds lank skies in godlike pose,
Dispels grief and human woes.

Premium Member The Lighter Side of Faith

     The sun provides me light from without
        My faith provides it from within

     On days when no light shines on my skin
        What’s within dispels any doubt

Premium Member On Cue

This is my favourite time of day,

Morning, as day starts anew.

The darkness turns to lighter grey

Which soon dispels to brilliant blue.

Birds start singing, as if on cue.

Premium Member Love Quells

Listen to poem:
when feelings rage
to fever pitch
and seas rise
to tortuous,
the simplest
open arms, loving embrace,
with puppy pats on the chest
quells and dispels
the fury
quite unexpectedly.

Premium Member By the Streetlamp

Listen to poem:
It fills space with sense of grace.
Vitality curved in stone.
Sips of serendipity,
linger on as sediment—
long after applause dispels
likes into cadent memoirs.
Mellow in contemplation!
Jelly-set in sentiment!

Premium Member Dark Night of the Soul

despair knocks the door
hallucinating the mind
tormenting the soul

darkness dispels light
sinister black shadows loom
unhinging spirit

an evil fiend tempts
execrable ideas
drowning to abysm

Fears grip tender hearts
   still do motivate them too
Trust stays panic's flight
  daylight's promise dispels night

Tousled hair's nervous
  fingers roam so deep, so wide
Keep demons at bay

~~~Lilacs~~~
Lilacs bloom to welcome Spring,
Into my home, their blossoms I bring.
Lilac's fragrance dispels the gloom.
Aroma fills every room.
Comforting scent says winter is past.
Spring! Oh Spring, is here at last!
When the Full Moon Brightens the Sky
When the full moon brightens the sky
And dispels the darkness of night
My love sets my heart racing high
Ignites in me flames of delight
And with whispering waves of sigh
Holds me in close embrace so tight.
Musing
While I in solemn silence sit
Sad, forgotten and desolate
She comes and simply with her wit
Dispels the gloom, regret and hate.
     But she lives only in my mind,
     For in the grave she’s long confined.
Premium Member Comforting Rain
Outside the window
I hear the rain.
It relaxes me,
it dispels my pain.
I breathe in deep,
fresh cleansed air.
I empty my mind
of worrisome cares.
I love the sound
of rain in the trees.
It comforts me,
puts my mind at ease.
Summer rain falls
outside my window,
the most relaxing sound
that I know.
A Little Cloud
Blue Sky.
A little cloud passes by.
I sigh.
It is pure, clean, untouched.
A whiteness not claimed
a purity unstained.
I look upon it
and it darkens!
It swells up in anger.
“Don't look at me that way...
don't expect me to display
a picture of perfection”
I turn away.
It slowly calms ...dispels ...wisps away...
Premium Member A Privileged Soak
Take courage, child, when the storm speaks,
A privileged soak that wakes you up,
For God dispels the mountain peaks.
Take courage, child, when the storm speaks.
Ancient of Days, of whirlwind streaks,
Takes off your blinder shades, shakes up.
Take courage, child, when the storm speaks.
A privileged soak that wakes you up.
Premium Member The Irrepressible One
The rhapsodical sacred beauty beneficent,
The chanting dream of a life well spent,
Luscious fruit of the labors of heaven,
The flame of faith ever dispels confusion.
In blackness of night, she burns bright,
Like the iridescent moonglow at twilight.
Her magic makes polka dot blooms possible,
So, every kind of beauty seems plausible!
Premium Member Old Wise Woman
Old wise woman who knows things
Things the rest of us may never know
The universe shares her truths with you
Because you keep a confidence
I envy that
Old wise woman who dispels knowledge
Who speaks her mind and guides the masses
Why do so few know of you?
Why are you kept for the benefit of only a few of us?
I ponder your wisdom and advice.
Joys To Glean
Bathing in your gentle light
Is like splashing in the sea
Your smile dispels the dark of night
And brings the dawn to me
Our love is young and fragile too
And yet is evergreen
I find each day I am with you
There sprout new joys to glean
And though we are so oft apart
And hand in hand can’t be
Know you’re always in my heart
My sweet and dear baby
