December daybreak
dim sun searching for a smile
cold wind biting cheeks

daybreak
horizons
sound the alarm
awaken
false dawn

after heaven's tears
rainbow hangs above the mist ~
a foggy daybreak

I adore the dawn,
when she wakes and is eager
to take her pure brush
and paint my world at daybreak,
tempting me to feel alive.
Daybreak,
eyelids open
creating a playground,
filled with an endless enchantment,
rebirth.

Monocrostic (Birthday of Aira B. Silva)
with a tremor of light-
daybreak tinges
the nigrescent sky grey-
the horizon appears
distinct in my mind's eye

you’re an obsession driving me insane
from daybreak on through my dreams
longing to taste your lips

The Queen of Day in cool array
Dances her gay dewdrop ballet
Her morning rays light up the skies
She lifts the Lord of Night’s disguise.
the morning lark sings not in hell -
daybreak heartstrings cannot break through

Fading pink Petals,
Resolute to die,drooping
Towards gravel grave.
Sprinklers cast,their last goodbye,
Daybreak:whites now your color.
Tides enfold first light,
Golden hues seep through briny mist,
Daybreak murmurs rest,
Ebb and flow dance quietly,
Dawn's tender overture sung.
arcane orange light
shining through winter woods....
just beyond
daybreak

In The Twilight Looms
Livetrap waits alone
Daybreak descends to capture
Spirits lost in fog
For Raul's "Nature's Breath" contest
scents upon daybreak..
trapping catacomb of thoughts
sealing mornings views
inferring the roar
coming down steel bar tracks….
destination where
an owls weathered eyes
chill keeps him still and silent
daybreak warmth awakes
saffron cloaks the clouds
as apricot streaks the sky . . .
the sun peeking through

For A Brian Strand Premiere Choice Poetry Contest
starling stereo
crisp and clear early morning
set to full volume
weighty wings arise
marvelous and maddening
at verge of daybreak
under an open sundrenched sky
eagles soar high up over snowcapped mountains
freedom is their calling card

You're my favourite daybreak melody.
I wake soft sips to your aroma.
Ready to take on the day.

Sun rises over open sedge;
soft supple light sweeps
across accordion bay.
White Egrets in blue skies
praise another day.
Daybreak begins as curtain falls with bitter end--endless silence.

daybreak yawns, the sun then smiles
critters are stirring before their day begins
all is well till the sunset grins
you can see clouds rolling in for miles.
Daybreak crackles, nested birds stir
Moon shadows bed them just as they were
No day for school or lessons to fly
These are newborns; did you have to ask why?
