Unblemished vellum
Begs the Imagist's pardon:
Forsake not my skin -
Complete my chaste nakedness
With threads of dappled spectra
Sun flickered 'pon your eyes
scintillating as the seas,
dappled with the chemistry
of a thousand swooning moons
Dancing nimbly on the boughs
His song insouciant and joyous
Feathers resplendent with colour
Dappled with the paling light
With moon shining bright
casting long silvery shadows
that hide the lovers from sight
as they lay together
by the river in dappled shade
Under dappled light
It waits off a country road,
A short bike from home.
On it rested a boy's world.
Grown up now, my rock I seek.
In summer, sun-flowers wave,
welcoming buzzing bugs
humming among petals,
around pollen yellow as gold
dappled in puddles of light.
Empty lockets
dangle softly
from crooked necks--
dappled granite
faces west
where the sun sleeps--
whispered prayers
linger quietly
as a child weeps.
Birds tweet and chirp, as
I rest by a shaded pond,
where dappled sun shines ...
It soaks into my body,
as the pond's melody sings.
dappled sunlight ~
lands on my shoulder
as I sip my morning tea
lingers a while then softly drifts away
leaving a warm familiar scent
I must tell you this bird:
long thin legs, sharp beak
wading in a dappled stream
grayish blue, at home in cypress
Curving skyward through Spanish Moss
A Cinquain.
Once a young man from Bodoni
Owned an old, dappled pony.
And he rode to see the show.
Twas Emperors' new clothes.
Said, That's a vanity Felony.

Poets speak in ink,
Musicians speak with music;
Artists speak through dappled paint.
Sculptors speak in stone,
Actors speak in their actions:
While everyone else...listens.
Cottony, Cumulus
Clouds dappled on blue can
coalesce into banks;
creating a dull, drab,
cheerless, depressing day,
consistent with rain and
children's disappointment.
When the going gets tough
A fond retreat awaits
Where firs and pines nestle
Yearning for an embrace,
A sigh, and a deep breath
Bathing in dappled light
And warmth of gratitude.
bare limbs reach skyward
against cloud dappled ceiling
as evening quiet descends
its spreading branches
speak of hard scrabble farmers
and their long lost hopes and dreams
fresh lilies blossom
dappled sunlight is welcome ~

Sun-dappled wings dart
swallows stitch the April sky
with threads of dawn's light.
Their shadows dance on warm stone,
writing spring in swift cursive.

Behold the bather astride the river,
resplendent in rainbow-dappled nudity
his sense of light and air and wetness
ebbs and flows like his emotions,
colors shift and swirl in response
to the universe of his creativity.
Laughing liquid lyrics ring
along rough pebbled passage;
dappled light filters lace leaves
kissing smiling lips and cheeks;
summer stain lingers where you touched
soft skin with wild berry fingers.

trees waltzing in dots
as boats drift into grey haze;
folks seek Sunday calm ~
hands rest in dappled sunlight
parasols , like mushrooms, bloom
verdant shades
dappled shadows… woodland ways
dancing flower flies
