Ladder
I want to climb up your ladder but some rungs are broken
I watch your words crystallize as they are spoken
I see your heart pump and your muscles tighten
The voice of fear cancels the voice of reason
Freedom...

An image
     alights
     as a butterfly
in Spring

A thought
      arrives
      as inspiration
on the wing

An idea
       resides
       to crystallize
and bring

image
       thought
       together
as one...

Wardrobes, full of clothes,
crossstitch cluttered walls-
her shadow still clouds my mind

tears begin to fall.
emotion becomes a flood-
a cataract of regret flows

a realisation dawns,
fleeting thoughts crystallize-
as 'as is' moment of hope is born...

The sands of time will take its toll

To crystallize a weathered soul

And when each life is then no more

Then washed up on a distant shore

Just one of many that abound

With crashing waves the only sound

And with the sands of time will bleach

Each grain along this sandy beach...

Premium Member A Process of Discovery
inspiration burns
turns a spark
from the tinder
     of imagination
into a flame..
          a flame
that gathers up
          experience
burnishes and
             refines
a nugget of emotion
into an image, then
crystallize as a phrase
to become
      a spoken word,
a voice
from
the seeing eye...

Poetry Queen Connie
Connie's capricious thoughts crystallize,
she composed them to console and cajole.
Her deepest dreams she can realize
as release valve for her sensitive soul,
rich rays of light her readers recognize.

Premium Member Maybe Forever
We could talk
 for hours
 and
 maybe
 forever
 I love
 when our eyes
 embrace
 and
 stay
 there
 in
 that moment
 stretching it
 and
 hoping
 to crystallize it
 into something
 tangible
 something bigger
 than the
 two of us
 something
 stronger than
 our two wills
 combined

On Flight
And like monarchs we awake,
destiny calls, but we forsake,
we must test our puny might,
till we learn to shine on flight.

When we've sifted truth from lies,
then will wisdom crystallize,
epiphany is our goal,
in our journey to be whole.

Soaring high is the real way,
that brushes our fears away,
and place our heart in Gods pure sight,
matter turning into delight....

Spring Was Delayed
Spring Was Delayed
by Michael R. Burch

Winter came early:
the driving snows,
the delicate frosts
that crystallize

all we forget
or refuse to know,
all we regret
that makes us wise.

Spring was delayed:
the nubile rose,
the tentative sun,
the wind’s soft sighs,

all we omit
or refuse to show,
whatever we shield
behind guarded eyes.

The Human Anatomy
Living
is to crystallize into candid shards,
fragile as the tremble of a glass too full;
is to pierce oneself like the sun
sews ray to ray across its mighty core;
is the center to which the ocean
folds in on itself,
glittering a gown of sand
into kaleidoscopic swirls
of glass and salty mists,
flaking lips.
Existence eagerly dips its pale toes in,
sea water slipping through slackened eyes.
It seeps back whence it derived:
a cage of bones....

Winter
Look, Look the winter is dancing
in mid hot summer
causing sweat to crystallize on the faces
of daisies, tulips and oak leaves;

Folks are screaming to the Lord
for mercy
for recognition
for more, more, more of something
which name they cannot call;

Dancer drink a toast to themselves
a toast to their beginnings
a toast to their end days;

My heart opens to start the day
cold winds blow slicing the atmosphere
trembling the earth’s center....

Ghost of Carton Color
Let us the issues finalize:
Two more topics just analyze
One can narrative summarize;
On dryness water canalize...
Why ghosts in places crystallize:
If dreams through them materialize?

Ghost I'd seen of carton color,
Its look that of obvious pallor;
Had good money in carton;
While human dropped by a Paton
"You come back with it in a week!"
But killer drugs had him made weak...

Now Ghost keeps repeating"Carton"
And sometimes"Sorry, Sir Paton!!...

We can account when the universes’ energy began
Wondering though what was before and when the cosmos emerged
Unsure who, what and why this all converged
And now there are lights flying in the dark skies at night
Navy pilots watching in the clouds -- is someone visiting in the starlight
Crystallize, rock, water, skin or bone, living, dead no way to know
From where they have come from and where they go
No one seems sure of these visiting lights in the shadows...

Blue
Why do I need you
And just what are you
Are you a verb
Are you a noun
Are you saying are you heard
Are you a pastel color on a children's drawing board
 and just what are you
Chosen of the mini crystallize particles of the rainbow
An appointment with the emotion
I have chosen to ignore your corrosion
Can see in this gravity
is that you're bringing me down
And invest I have surmised and I realize that I am

Word Sounding
The sounds of words can shake the skies
or cut an ego down to size,
when knowing sages have their say
of fitting words to seize the day,
conveying wisdom from the wise.

An avid versifier tries
through orphic craft to harmonize
with sense and lyric overlay
the sounds of words.

From inner cosmos may arise
the wordless visions word defies
that seek to find a worded way
with synesthetic interplay,
and thus in poem crystallize
the sounds of words.

Talk Past Them
Cant remain but am
know I have to but cant
know I will but delay
sleep in the right time to die
spit my words like honey
casually crawls down their senses
muted slowed and automatic
the next tragedy so predictable
isnt that ugly or gross
why it was me
its how I know you
its how I hate you
so when do we crystallize
eternalized in motion
still and weathering
forever stuck on a twig
none the closer to snapping
I know I should but cant
I know I will never
so I wont ever
tell...
