Tinsel and Bing
I heard Bing Crosby sing
My heart skipped a little
Close is the time
Of joyful rhyme

Sleighs and snowman
Georgia's southern clim'
Doesn't go for snow
Below the tinsel lighted star

We sing Bing!...

Gold Medal
Hello out there, Team Canada, don't be scared.....

It's gold medal fight, that Team USA wins tonight

And the whole world knows, CROSBY BLOWS! As the puck goes down the ice.

Luongo jumps, and the Americans bump, and the Canadians show disdain...

Someone roars: "RAFALSKI SCORES!", and Team USA wins the game.......

Early Morning Harmony
Danced with
Conceived and born
Sung to and nursed
On a downy soft quilt

Transfused with
Vibrations of Ellington
Basie, Crosby, Waller
Goodman and Armstrong

Skyrocketed spiritually
By Kern and Carmichael
Porter, Gershwin and Berlin

Thanks Mom and Dad
For the beautiful music
We made together
On that bed of downy softness...

12 Days Before Christmas
shining moment
bright angel
light shimmering
a halo on your hair
I am forever
blessed by this
visitation

baubles dance
on our tipsy tree
we sway too
on a Bing Crosby tune
slightly out of step
but never minding
your heartbeat
is all I hear

time pauses
holding my hand
you wonder
what gift you can give
so filled, voice
stopped by tears
this is the gift
this is all, Love,
that I could want...

Moonlight Delight
As we are spending quality time together in the dark, I will freely admit I feel happy as a lark. What splendor you display as you shine in the moonlight. Without a doubt, I think you are a delight. You have become someone I truly adore. I feel like Bing Crosby singing to Dorothy Lamour. What a wonderful feeling of coming together as one. For once, I don't want to see the rising of the sun.

The Answer
Did the Beatles know the answer
When the sixties were for love
And Crosby Stills and Nash sang it hard
For Ohio and the Military Madness called it true

Then there was Woodstock
Where it was peace, love and music
Played to the crowd
I wonder where those songs are now

But the world moved on
And those songs faded away
For peace was missed again
So what songs for peace do we play today?

Sad world
Isn't this a sad world?
Shouldn't we do more?
People dying every day
Others classed as poor
Where's the happy endings
For those who do deserve
Where's the Christmas spirit?
To those who live on nerves
If God could shake this life up
Banish all the bad
Make the people smile again
Instead of feeling sad
Entering a new age
We will wish for peace
Hoping in the new year
The fighting all shall cease

Premium Member Fallen Angel
My guardian angel reached for me
And tumbled right beneath a tree.

When I espied him on the ground,
It was as if I had been bound.

I couldn’t reach him lying there.
I feared he’d think I didn’t care.

As I stared with astonished eyes,
A big arm plucked him to the skies.

I wonder if God scolded him
For leaning over Heaven’s rim.

Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.” by: Fanny J Crosby

When I was in my teens
Hollywood set the scene;
Powerful producers called the shots
On manufactured landscaped lots,
Adventure,humour excitement
In simple wholsome movie plots-
Hayward and Mature
Wayne & westerns..for sure,
Russell and Marilyn Monroe,
Hope & Crosby.. with miles to go,
Rogers & Astaire,
Hudson & Day with love in the air-
Just to name a few....
Each Saturday standing in a queue..
Awaiting escape ..to somewhere new.
